Bottom Line

The modern Mantra on Kent (formerly Pacific International Suites) is right by Cockle Bay Wharf and Darling Harbor, on the western border of the Central Business District. While the 105 studios and apartments are comfortable and roomy, they're bland, with the drab colors, basic furnishing, and little personality. On the bright side, the rooms do come with many “home away from home” amenities such as fully equipped kitchens, lounge and dining areas, laundry facilities and DVD players. Overall, the hotel’s location is truly its best attribute; the property lacks some basic features such as a gym and business center, and the restaurant is only open for breakfast.

Mantra on Kent

Location

Located a short walking distance to Darling Harbour, Queen Victoria Building, and Sydney’s Central Business District.

Mantra on Kent is located within walking distance of the touristy Darling Harbour waterfront district, and its popular sights, including the Sydney Aquarium and Cockle Bay Wharf. It's on the western border of the Central Business District, and the Town Hall is also within walking distance.

Sydney, the site of the first British colony in Australia, was established on January 26, 1788 -- a date that's still celebrated with festivities all over the country. Home to over four million people, the city has grown to become one of the most cosmopolitan places in the world. The state capital of New South Wales, it jumped into the international spotlight in 2000 when it hosted the Olympics. While it is mentioned alongside other major cities like London, Paris and New York, its vibe differs from the usual hustle and bustle of those metropolises. Sydney usually receives 300 sunny days a year, and the lifestyle is more slow-paced; though the people are classy and cultured, they're also laid-back.

From the iconic Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, to the fun Bondi Beach and Queen Victoria Building, Sydney is rich in historic landmarks, art and cultural institutions, wildlife and nature, gastronomic hubs, shopping centers and a vibrant nightlife scene.

  • 4-minute walk to Queen Victoria Building
  • 5-minute walk to Town Hall
  • 7-minute walk to Pitt Street Mall
  • 7-minute walk to Sydney Aquarium
  • 8-minute walk to Cockle Bay Wharf
  • 10-minute walk to Darling Harbour
  • 5-minute drive to Powerhouse Museum
  • 6-minute drive to Museum of Contemporary Art
