HOVIMA Panorama

Hovima Panorama (formerly Aparthotel Panorama) is housed in a couple of two-story buildings half a block from the ocean. This part of Costa Adeje is rocky and there is no direct access to a sandy beach, but some of the top beaches in the area are within walking distance or a short drive away. Decor is dated throughout, but housekeeping is thorough and both common spaces and rooms are kept spotless. The lobby is basic and plain, with a few couches with flower prints, and a computer that guests can use for a fee. Rooms are not big or upscale, but tick all the boxes for a relaxing vacation on a budget, including fully equipped kitchenettes and patios or balconies. The hotel is suited for families and couples, but most guests during the off-peak season are older couples drawn by the good weather and low rates.

The hotel is centrally located in Costa Adeje, Tenerife’s south coast. The main shopping, dining and nightlife area is just a short walk away, and there is a bus stop a couple of blocks from the hotel that makes moving around the area easy and cheap. While the hotel is located on a rocky coastal area, there are several beaches within walking distance, including some of the top stretches of sand in southern Tenerife. Los Cristianos, Las Américas, Fañabé and La Caleta are all a short distance from the hotel; Fañabé is the closest, and can be reached in around 15 minutes on foot. Those who prefer to use public transportation can take a bus to all of the area’s main beaches. Tenerife Sur Airport can be reached by car in 10 minutes, and by bus in under 50 minutes.

Rooms at Hovima Panorama are simple, with somewhat dated decor in muted colors, and generic wooden furniture. Amenities, however, are decent for a hotel in this price range, and include flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi (for a fee), ceiling fans (though no air-conditioning units), and balconies or terraces, some with ocean views. All units have a fully equipped kitchenette with cooktops, sinks, mini-fridges, toasters, and electric kettles, and are large enough to fit a seating area. Bathrooms are clean and feature shower/tub combos and generic toiletries in wall dispensers. Most rooms are studios, but the hotel also offers one-bedroom apartments with a separate living and dining area. 

The pool is located in the central part of the property, surrounded by plants and by plenty of plastic loungers. The main pool is large and clean, and features a separate plunge pool for kids with a cute mosaic. The pool bar offers drinks and light snacks in a shaded area with a handful of tables and chairs. The indoor bar is small but pleasant, with lots of natural light, a few wooden high tables with stools, and two computers that guests can use for a fee. The adjacent restaurant serves a solid buffet for all three meals in a bright, generic space with huge windows overlooking the garden. Wi-Fi is free in the lobby, but there is a daily or weekly charge for in-room Internet access. Free on-site parking, and live entertainment nightly are also available.
