Towering over the massive business and shopping development of Roppongi Hills, the five-pearl Grand Hyatt Tokyo is convenient for business travelers and tourists alike. The hotel has a business center with laptop rental and printing services, a huge full-service spa, a lobby shop selling more than 150 different cigars, and 17 meeting rooms, including large ballrooms totaling more than 21,000 square feet of flexible event space across three floors. There are also seven on-site restaurants, including the Cantonese Chinaroom, which has private dining rooms suitable for functions or business meetings.

Clientele are mostly hip tourists who care about design and ambiance, and business travelers attracted to the sophisticated, audiovisual-equipped meeting rooms. There's also an open-air rooftop space and event rooms, popular for large gatherings, as well as luxurious private dining rooms available for meetings and events. Free snacks, drinks, and newspapers are available in the large lobby, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.

Conrad Tokyo

Set on the 28th through 37th floors of a luxury skyscraper in Tokyo's business-friendly Shiodome neighborhood, the 289-room Conrad Tokyo has panoramic views of Tokyo Bay and Hamarikyu Garden. In addition to several meeting rooms and a business center with computers, printers, and a copy machine, the hotel has several upscale restaurants, including the Michelin-starred China Blue. Rooms are some of the largest luxury rooms in Tokyo, but guests who upgrade to the Executive Level Rooms can access the Executive Lounge, with free booze, breakfast, and snacks; expedited check-in and check-out; and a private concierge. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

The Hilton Tokyo is a bustling upscale business hotel with around-the-clock facilities, restaurants, and bars in Shinjuku's office district, near the colossal Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office and the busiest train station in the world. The hotel has enormous meeting spaces that host frequent conventions, with attendees taking breaks at the indoor pool or rooftop tennis courts. The modern rooms have decadent bathrooms; it may be worth upgrading to Executive Rooms for the extra perks, including free Wi-Fi and a free breakfast, especially given the inflated food prices at the restaurants here.

Close to the Tokyo Tower, the 626-room Price Park Tower Tokyo is a luxury high-rise hotel in Shiba Park. Guest rooms, starting at 301 square feet, are spacious by Japanese standards, and have large windows providing views of the Tokyo skyline and lots of natural light. The Hotel New Otani Tokyo Executive House ZEN & The Main are part of the New Otani luxury hotel complex, which sits in a 400-year-old Japanese garden that can be traced back to a samurai lord. The two properties have different personalities -- The Executive House is edgy and ultra-modern, while The Main is more traditional luxury -- but they are both quite impressive. Amenities include an expansive business center with work stations and conference rooms, banquet space for up to 2,000 guests, and free on-site parking. The 477-room Royal Park Hotel The Shiodome is a business hotel at the top of the Shiodome Tower in downtown Tokyo. The upscale property is conveniently connected to two metro stations, making it easy to access the rest of the city. Contemporary decor and big work desks cater to business travelers, and all but the small Economy Rooms have great views of the city from the high-rise's upper floors. There are four restaurants, a full-service spa with sauna and steam baths, a 24-hour Kinko's business center with printing services, several small meeting rooms, and a large banquet hall.

Park Hotel Tokyo

Park Hotel Tokyo occupies the top 10 floors of a media skyscraper in the business-centered neighborhood of Shiodome. It's directly connected to the Shiodome Station via the Toei Oedo and Yurikamome subway lines, putting the entire city within reach. All the hotel's 273 rooms and suites have great views of either the city or Tokyo Bay, and come with pillows by Japan's Lofty Co., minibars, flat-screen TVs, and tea-making facilities, but no coffeemakers. A 24-hour business center with Macs and printing services is in a quiet room off the lobby, and the hotel has several private meeting rooms available.

HOTEL METROPOLITAN TOKYO MARUNOUCHI

Chiyoda, Marunouchi, Tokyo Prefecture, Kanto, Japan

Right next to the JR Tokyo Station, the upscale, high-rise Hotel Metropolitan Marunouchi is conveniently situated for both leisure and business travelers, though the hotel especially caters to the latter. The hotel's 343 rooms are on the small side but are outfitted with big work desks and ergonomic roller chairs. Corner rooms have great city views, and some rooms even have bathtubs with views. The 27th-floor restaurant and bar also takes advantage of the skyline, though the Japanese and Western breakfast buffets are not included in standard room rates. The Metropolitan Marunouchi bills itself as budget-friendly, and it is a good value for its caliber.

The Westin Tokyo

An upscale hotel adjacent to the Yebisu Garden Place, The Westin Tokyo benefits from its close proximity to several museums, as well as quality shopping and restaurants. The hotel's own restaurants are pricey, but diverse, and its Ryutenmon restaurant has picked up a Michelin star for its Cantonese cuisine. The classical European decor is grand, if perhaps a tad gaudy and out of place in Tokyo to some. Though the rooms are corporate and may strike some as dated rather than charmingly traditional, they're all huge even by Western norms (and some are geared toward business travelers, with work desks and extras like Nespresso machines). The hotel also has large meeting facilities and a 22nd-floor bar and cigar lounge, but charges a fee for Wi-Fi.

Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo

The 494-room Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo's large Japanese garden makes it a surprising oasis in the middle of the city. Some of the large rooms cater to business travelers with work desks, but even Standard Rooms have sitting areas with space in which to spread out. All rooms were renovated in 2015. Business facilities include several meeting rooms and large banquet halls, the largest of which can hold 800 people. There's also a business center and lounge with multiple computers, printing services, and couches with free newspapers. The hotel provides free shuttle service to JR Meguro station, with buses leaving about every 15 minutes.

Tokyo Marriott Hotel

A good pick for business travelers, Tokyo Marriott Hotel is an upscale chain hotel about a 12-minute walk from Shinagawa station. (Shinagawa is one of the city’s leading business districts and home to a long list of corporate headquarters.) The hotel has nine meeting rooms and a fully equipped business center that provides copying, faxing, and printing services. There is also a breakfast buffet (for a fee), a grill, and two formal Japanese restaurants on-site. Renovated in 2013, the 249 modern rooms have minibars and a cool color palette. Access to an executive lounge with drinks and snacks is available for a fee (included for guests in Executive Rooms).

Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro

Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo is a huge upper-middle-range hotel with 807 guest rooms, located in the busy Toshima district. It's located a short walk to a major public transportation hub, offering easy access to the rest of the city. The four room categories range from small, somewhat drab standard rooms to tastefully decorated suites. In-room amenities include flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, electric kettles, and mini-fridges. Many rooms offer scenic city views, some of which stretch to Mount Fuji. The hotel offers a host of features, including nine restaurants, a panoramic bar, a beauty salon, and a spa with a pool and a fitness center, for an extra fee.

Courtyard Tokyo Ginza Hotel

Chuo, Ginza, Tokyo Prefecture, Kanto, Japan

The upper-middle-range, 206-room Courtyard Marriott Ginza Hotel is located in one of the city's most upscale shopping districts and has an international clientele. It's a big, largely impersonal hotel, but it's comprehensive in scope with restaurants (Japanese and American), bars, a business center, rentable computers, and 10 meeting rooms that are kitted out with audio-visual equipment, Wi-Fi, and printers. Guest rooms are modern and feel corporate, with stocked minibars and flat-screen TVs. However, Wi-Fi and breakfast are not included in rates.
