Koh Chang island location necessitates lengthy travel
The Dewa Koh Chang is a four-pearl beachfront resort set on the western coast of Koh Chang. Lush garden-filled grounds are a contrast to the contemporary architecture that's infused with rustic touches like thatched roofs, and the abundance of concrete and neutral hues allows the greenery to take center stage. Some might find the guest rooms a bit stark decor-wise, but they're well-equipped with mod cons, private balconies, and both soaking tubs and walk-in rainfall showers. The hotel offers a chic outdoor pool with a poolside bar and kids' pool, a lovely beach, a spa, and two restaurants as well as a cafe, but there are no fitness facilities. For something with more features, such as a kids' club and gym, check out the KC Grande Resort & Spa.
Scene
Contemporary upscale resort set on gorgeous beachfront grounds
The grounds at this upscale resort are lush and gorgeous, teeming with gardens, tall palms, and tropical plants. Architecture and decor is modern and stark, though infused with rustic elements like thatched roofs that harmoniously blend in with the natural surroundings. Lush greenery wraps and wreathes itself around all the concrete structures, while large windows offer views that infuse the neutral hues of the interiors -- mainly gray and black shades -- with color. It can feel a bit stark at times due to the abundance of concrete, yet the gray hues work well with the lushness outdoors. Guests note that spaces are pristinely clean, and the atmosphere here is mostly quiet and serene, ideal for a relaxing break. Visitors here are mostly couples on vacation, though kids and families also book rooms.

Rooms
Contemporary -- if stark -- rooms have private balconies, and both tubs and rainfall showers
Like the rest of the property, rooms are clad in neutral shades and feature a contemporary style. The concrete floors and walls give them an industrial vibe that can feel a bit stark and might not suit all tastes. Beds are topped in crisp white linens accented by silver pillows and there are white curtains adorning one of the walls. Furnishings are quite spare, but the spaces are equipped with a good selection of amenities, including flat-screen TVs, DVD players, electric kettles, minibars (plus a variety of snacks), electronic safes, free bottled water, robes and slippers, beach towels, flip flops, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms have large walk-in rainfall showers and separate soaking tubs with glass windows that overlook the bedroom. All rooms have lovely private balconies furnished with seating, that overlook the pool area. For those seeking more space, villas are also available. The concrete cylindrical structures are topped with thatched roofs and surrounded by greenery. They offer more sitting space as well as larger balconies. Grand Villas have even larger living areas, plus they come with private outdoor whirlpool tubs.
