Bottom Line

West Bay Club is a subtly sophisticated four-and-a-half pearl property located on Grace Bay Beach. The resort’s 46 studios and suites strike an effortless balance between homey and elegant, with most featuring ocean-view balconies or terraces and spacious bathrooms. All units have kitchens equipped with microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers, plus flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. For a small property, it manages to pack in a competitive roster of amenities, including two quality restaurants and a glamorous pool. Guests may want to compare rates and amenities with The Somerset on Grace Bay, which is closer to the convenient shops and restaurants located along Grace Bay Road.

Scene

Boutique condo-style hotel, with large suites and a relaxed vibe

This boutique property sits directly on a gorgeous stretch of Grace Bay Beach

The West Bay Club’s long, open-air lobby channels attention to the property’s splendid pool and the dazzling coastline beyond, immediately setting the tone for a stay focused on the stunning beach. The resort oozes understated opulence, with its all-white color schemes emphasizing the vivid blue of the sky and ocean. Shady walkways accented with bougainvillea loop around the periphery of the pool, adding a pop of color to the grounds.

The property includes all the features you would expect from a high-end resort, yet most, while upscale, aren't overbearingly large, allowing the resort to retain an intimate feel. Its studios and suites are the opposite, offering much more space than units at most neighboring resorts (except the slightly cramped Studios). While the property is most popular with couples, a top-notch kids’ club and easy-going atmosphere ensure that families will feel equally at home.

Location

On a quiet stretch of Grace Bay Beach, away from the main hub of resorts

Map of West Bay Club

West Bay Club is set on the lesser-trafficked, western end of Grace Bay Beach. There are handful of useful amenities within walking distance, including a pharmacy and a grocery store, both of which can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot. Guests interested in nightlife can head to the buzzing restaurant at the neighboring Gansevoort resort; however, keep in mind that West Bay Club is farther away (about a 10-minute drive) from the shops and restaurants of Grace Bay Road than most of the other properties lining the bay. Snorkeling at Smith’s Reef is a five-minute drive west, while Caicos Conch Farm is a 10-minute drive east. Providenciales International Airport can be reached in 10 minutes by car.

Rooms

Beautiful, contemporary units with kitchens, most with balconies or terraces

The spacious Three Bedroom Penthouse includes a separate living space and kitchen furnished in upscale, contemporary decor

Units at West Bay Club range in size from somewhat small, 300-square-foot Studios to sprawling, 3,800-square-foot Premium Ocean Front Three-Bedroom Suites -- most units are a great size for the price. While decor differs a bit from unit to unit, you can expect modern, beach-inspired furnishings, such as framed seashells and tropical prints, along with mahogany and teak furniture. King beds, some of which are four-poster, feature Egyptian cotton linens. All rooms include plasma flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Most units also offer washers and dryers, as well as living rooms with sofa beds and dining tables.

Wooden doors in Studios and Ocean Front One-Bedroom Suites discretely conceal kitchenettes with microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers. All other room categories have polished, stainless steel kitchens with granite countertops. Aside from Studios, all units include roomy, ocean-view balconies or terraces with cushioned loungers. Spacious bathrooms feature walk-in showers and basin sinks. Large vanities offer Elemis bath products and magnifying mirrors. Upper-level room categories add separate soaking tubs and double sinks.

Features

Stylish infinity pool, direct access to gorgeous Grace Bay Beach, and two airy restaurants

Noodle Bar + Kitchen, the resort’s main restaurant, serves light Caribbean fare for lunch and Asian-influenced cuisine from an airy space

While the West Bay Club’s lineup of on-site features isn’t as extensive as some of the larger resorts nearby, they’re quite impressive for a small condo-style hotel. The focal point of the resort is an oval-shaped infinity pool, which is set amid palm trees, with the ocean visible through an arched walkway. There’s a pretty, mosaic-tile planter in the middle of the pool, and wooden loungers shaded by white beach umbrellas circle its periphery.

The resort offers direct access to a broad sweep of Grace Bay Beach via an attractive, wooden walkway. Lounge chairs and beach umbrellas are provided for guests, along with non-motorized water sports equipment, like snorkeling gear, Hobie Cats, and kayaks.

The resort’s main restaurant, Noodle Bar + Kitchen, is breezy and inviting, featuring dark rattan chairs set under a white shelter and tucked within the gardens overlooking the pool. An excellent free breakfast buffet is served here each morning. The restaurant also serves light Caribbean fare for lunch, along with Asian-influenced cuisine, like curried lobster and stir fry egg noodles, for dinner. The resort’s other restaurant, Drift, is set right on the beach, with two rows of chic, gray tables under umbrellas. It offers casual fare, such as sandwiches and burgers, throughout the day.

The fitness center is small but decent, with Cybex elliptical machines and treadmills set along windows that face toward the pool and lush grounds. It also features a good range of free weights, strength-training machines, and exercise balls. The neighboring Anani Spa is also compact yet pleasant, offering a range of facials, massages, and body treatments in two treatment rooms.

Kids’ Town offers free morning programming for children age five and older, with activities ranging from crafts to sand castle building. There’s a playroom set in a tiny independent building, featuring colorful wall murals, games, and a TV. Kid-friendly field trips to off-site attractions can also be arranged for an additional fee.

Kitchen stocking services can be provided for a surcharge. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, and free parking is offered on-site.
