Bottom Line

Tivoli Lodge is a modern, upscale boutique ski lodge set on the eastern edge of Vail Village, just a brief walk from both the ski lifts and the heart of town. Its 64 rooms are spacious and well equipped, with kitchenettes and elegant marble bathrooms, some of which feature separate tubs and walk-in showers. Facility highlights include a beautiful lobby, a popular bar that serves a breakfast buffet (for a fee), free ski valet and storage services, a fitness center, and outdoor whirlpools. Rates are competitive, and, as such, it often sells out in peak season. Another good option to consider right in Vail Village is the upper-middle-range Austria Haus Hotel, which includes free breakfast.

Tivoli Lodge

Scene

Warm and rustic family-run ski lodge with a modern and impressive lobby

This family-run ski lodge was rebuilt in 2006 as a modern, upscale property and it exudes a warm and rustic ambiance. The spacious lobby is classy and comfortable, with brown leather sofas and armchairs situated in front of a huge stone fireplace. Natural stone also is used for the pillars and walls. Colorful, Oriental-style rugs sit atop striking slate-tile floors, and large artwork depicting mountain scenery enhances the rustic lodge feel. Floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors maximize the amazing views of the surrounding mountain landscapes. The lobby also houses the on-site bar -- Brown Hound Lounge -- which has a stone-and-granite bar positioned along one wall. The bar’s namesake -- a friendly chocolate lab named Indy -- often greets guests at the hotel, most of whom are ski vacationers.
