Vincci Mercat

Vincci Mercat is housed in a four-story building on a quiet side street in Old Town Valencia. The hotel is somewhat stylish, with attractive modern decor and clean lines. Guests are generally out sightseeing in Old Town, but there are a few areas where people gather here. One is the lobby-level cocktail bar, with an emerald green top and upholstered high-back chairs, which also serves espresso. But the seasonal rooftop plunge pool is the preferred hangout spot, with city views and a poolside bar, which stays busy late into the evening. The Vincci attracts leisure travelers, particularly couples looking for design-forward accommodations in an excellent location. 

Vincci Mercat is in central Valencia in Old Town, a great location for tourists. Mercado Central market, one of Europe's oldest and largest markets with more than 1,000 stalls, is only a two-minute walk from the hotel. The Llotja de la Seda (Silk Exchange) is just north of the market. The property is close to public transportation, with two bus stops (Baro de Carcer - Roger de Flor and Placa de l'Ajuntament - Mercat Central - Llotja) also a two-minute walk from the hotel. Also, the Angel Guimera and Colon metro stations are about 10 minutes away on foot. 

As for sights, the bustling Plaza de la Reina and Plaza Ayuntamiento are within a five-minute walk, and the 13th-century Valencia Cathedral is just north of Plaza de la Reina. Plaza de Toros bullring and El Barrio Carmen, with nightlife and tons of restaurants, is within 10 minutes on foot. The Norman Foster-designed Palacio de Congresos convention center is a 22-minute metro ride. 

Estacio del Nord is a 12-minute walk, and it's roughly 17 minutes on the metro to Joaquin Sorolla train station. Valencia Airport is a 13-minute drive from the Vincci Mercat. 

Vincci Mercat's guest rooms are attractive and modern, with parquet floors, sleek dark-wood furniture, and a floral-print panel on the wall behind the bed. Neutral decor is accented with navy throws on beds, and framed prints add a pop of red. 

Units are fairly spacious, and standard amenities include desks, flat-screen TVs (though there are few English-language channels), minibars, electric kettles with free tea and coffee, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Some units have living rooms and small balconies facing the street. 

Bathrooms have a stylish look, with espresso vanities and distinctive square basin sinks, and all come with shower/tub combos, heated towel racks, hairdryers, make-up mirrors, and toiletries. Guests should note that some units have two twin beds pushed together.

Vincci Mercat's top feature is its rooftop plunge pool, offering views of the surrounding area from its deck. The deck has sun loungers, and there's a seasonal poolside bar that's particularly popular in the evening. The hotel serves an ample hot breakfast buffet for a fee, with cooked-to-order eggs and a solid variety of baked goods. There's no full-service restaurant, but there is a cocktail lounge and bar with light fare. The front desk operates 24 hours a day, and underground parking (space limited) is available for a fee. No fitness center is on-site, but there are public health clubs in the area. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
