Bottom Line

The two-and-a-half-pearl Coast Vancouver Airport is a 10-minute drive from the Vancouver International Airport and the hotel offers a free airport shuttle service. The 134 rooms underwent a renovation in 2017 and now have a modern design and amenities like mini-fridges and coffeemakers; some have microwaves. White Spot restaurant is open for three meals a day. There’s a small gym with only a few cardio machines and some business facilities. However, breakfast and parking cost a fee and Wi-Fi is a hit-or-miss. Best Western Plus Uptown Hotel is a good alternative as its connected to the airport by a nearby Sky Train stop, is closer to downtown, and offers a free breakfast.

Coast Vancouver Airport Hotel

Scene

Budget hotel with a modern design and a clientele of travelers going to and from the airport

Coast Vancouver Airport has a modern design thanks to a lobby renovation in 2016 and room and hallway updates in 2017. The lobby has a trendy vibe with a white front desk, glass skylight, light wood laminate floors, and a sitting area with gray couches, a glass chandelier, and neon lighting. There’s also an open business center area with public computers, a flat-screen TV mounted on the wall, and a bar area for those who wish to work. Though the property has a modern design, guests have varying reports on the quality of cleanliness and maintenance throughout. Despite this, it still draws a mix of travelers who just need a night or two at the property before making their way to or from the airport.

Location

10-minute drive from airport with free airport shuttle service; restaurants within a 10-minute walk

Travelers mostly stay at Coast Vancouver Airport for its proximity to the airport -- a 10-minute drive away -- and the free 24-hour airport shuttle service. As for the immediate area, there are a handful of restaurants (like a McDonald's) within a 10-minute walk, and a bus stop outside the hotel. The closest train stop is a 15-minute walk. Downtown Vancouver is about a 20-minute drive from the property. The Langara Golf Course takes 10 minutes to reach by car. It’s a 13-minute drive to Iona Beach Regional Park.

Rooms

Renovated rooms with mini-fridges, air-conditioning, and coffeemakers

Guest rooms were refurbished in 2017 to reflect a contemporary style of gray carpet, white beds with wooden headboards and gray padding, and dark accent colors. All units include flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, safes, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers. Wi-Fi is free, but reportedly spotty. Only upper-level rooms have microwaves. The Suites are equipped with separate living rooms, dining tables, and kitchenettes with sinks, microwaves, and mini-fridges. Bathrooms are standard -- though some sinks are more modern than others. Earth E toiletries, hairdryers, and shower/tub combos or showers are provided. Though the rooms are renovated, guests still note that they can have cleanliness and maintenance issues.

Features

Parking, hot breakfast, restaurant, gym, free Wi-Fi, and free airport shuttle

For a budget-friendly hotel, there are a few surprising fees. Parking incurs a daily charge, as does a hot breakfast at the White Spot Restaurant, which also offers lunch, dinner, and room service. As for the other amenities, they cover the basics: a small gym with cardio equipment, two meeting rooms, and a business center. There’s free Wi-Fi but it’s reportedly not the best quality. The most popular freebie is the 24-hour airport shuttle.
