A romantic, boutique hotel that is favored by honeymooners and couples celebrating their anniversaries.

If you want the full Venice experience, the AD Place Venice is a nice option. Rooms overlook the canal where you might see singing gondoliers pass by the hotel. Candles and lanterns light the hotel's entryway at night, setting the mood for a romantic honeymoon or trip to celebrate one's wedding anniversary. The hotel also rents out apartments, convenient for those traveling with their families or friends. The rooms and common areas are outfitted in brightly colored Venetian baroque furnishings and Murano lamps. The hotel also has a small bar and a rooftop lounge outfitted with comfy cushions, where you can sip some limoncello and enjoy the view.

Location

Centrally located hotel near St. Mark's Square and the Rialto bridge.

The hotel is in a central location, just a few minutes from St. Mark's Square and the Rialto bridge. There's also a food market two blocks away. It's next to the main canal route for gondolas, so you can hear the music and singing as the gondoliers glide by. It's a short walk to a water taxi stop. In spite of the proximity to main sights, guests report that the hotel is fairly quiet. Some travelers say the hotel is a bit difficult to find, as is the case with many places in Venice.

Rooms

Rooms are richly appointed with traditional Venetian furniture and amenities like bathrobes.

The Venetian baroque-style rooms feature brightly colored furniture and homey amenities like bathrobes and slippers. Bathrooms are tight but modern. Get a room with a canal view if you want to see gondoliers outside your window, but stick to a ground floor room if you don't want to have to walk up a lot of steps (there's no elevator). The hotel also rents out apartments, which offer kitchenettes and living rooms. The larger apartment features a pool table and terraces overlooking the canal.

The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi and a free excursion to Murano.Guests can get Italian and international daily papers. While there's no business center, the reception can send and receive faxes.
