Austria Trend Hotel Bosei Wien

Austria Trend Hotel Bosei Wien is part of the Austria Trend chain of hotels. It set the scene for many outdoor shots in the 1927 film Metropolis by filmmaker Fritz Lang. Today, this property has a dated boxy green exterior and contemporary interiors imbued with the recognizable red accents found in all Austria Trend hotels. The lobby is a large open space with white floors, a blond wood front desk, and wood and glass shelving displaying various knickknacks. There’s a central seating area furnished with stylish, contemporary floral chairs in black, gray, and red tones. The restaurant espouses a similar basic style, with blue carpeting, worn red chairs, and wooden tables. About the only notable design element of the hotel are the floor-to-ceiling windows found in the restaurant and some of the meeting rooms, which offers views of the next-door golf course. Overall, the hotel feels a bit characterless, but it offers decent rates that attract a diverse clientele looking for a good value.

This hotel provides a safe, convenient option for both business and leisure travelers who want to be in a quiet area outside of the bustle of the city. The property is located right next to City & Country Club Weinerberg, and many of the hotel's public spaces and guest rooms overlook the golf course. Hallmann Dome is also next door, and is host to many sporting events. Travelers won’t find dining or shopping options within walking distance, but some attractions are a short drive away, such as Kurpark Oberlaa, which has Vienna’s largest thermal bath (a 15- to 20-minute drive). It’s a 20-minute drive to the city center, and the closest U-Bahn station is a 15-minute walk away. Vienna's Central Station is under a 15-minute drive, while Vienna International Airport can be reached in about 25 minutes by car. 

Rooms here are nothing fancy and many of them have a dated style -- and though others are a bit more contemporary, they still display bland chain decor. Dated rooms have old blond wood furniture and unimpressive red carpeting. Other rooms feature blue striped carpets, gray textured walls, crisp white beds with orange pillows, and abstract artwork in complementary color tones. Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and safes. Executive Rooms offer perks like free minibars snacks (juices, water, and soda), tea- and coffee-making facilities, early check-in, and late checkout, while Suites add separate living rooms. Bathrooms are modern with white tile, shower/tub combos, ECO by Green Culture toiletries in wall dispensers, and hairdryers. 

Features here are quite standard for a hotel in this category, and though none are particularly outstanding, the basics are covered. The on-site restaurant serves international and Viennese dishes, including a Viennese organic breakfast buffet in the morning (for a fee). Limited room service is available. The bar is cozy and has an outdoor patio with tables and chairs that are shaded by umbrellas. There's no fitness center, but guests can use the gym and sauna for free at the next-door City & Country Club Weinerberg. There are nine fully-equipped meeting rooms that hold up to 250 people.
