Bottom Line

Completely renovated and reopened in 2017, the Georgetown Inn West End is a 76-all-suite, two-and-a-half-pearl property in the West End. Spacious rooms have efficiency kitchenettes and seating areas alongside decor that's tasteful and modern. There’s no pool or fitness center, but the hotel offers free access to a nearby gym. A hot-and-cold buffet breakfast is included in rates and the hotel offers grocery delivery services. Nearby attractions including George Washington University, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and historic Georgetown. The hotel is also walking distance from two Metrorail Stations: Dupont Circle (Red Line) and Foggy Bottom-GWU (Orange, Silver, and Blue Lines). Prices are fair for D.C., but guests looking for an on-site gym, restaurant, and pool might try the nearby Hilton Garden Inn

Scene

Mix of vintage charm and modern style for travelers who don't need many frills

As is common among many hotels in the nation's capital, the Georgetown Inn West End has both vintage charm and contemporary style. It's housed in an eight-story, Federal-style building that blends in well with its historic surroundings. Although this is mainly a hotel where guests stick to their rooms when they're not out touring or doing business, there is a large lobby and common area with classic decor and multiple seating areas. These even include an intimate space with a fireplace and large flat-screen TV. The hotel's West End location has become revitalized in recent years and is now home to many popular restaurants. As such, expect to see mostly couples and business travelers here.

Location

In the buzzing West End, a five- to 10-minute walk from Dupont Circle or Georgetown

Located in Washington, D.C.'s revitalized West End neighborhood, the Georgetown Inn West End is convenient for travelers wanting to be close to Dupont Circle, Foggy Bottom, and historic Georgetown. Business and government travelers often pick the hotel for its proximity to the World Bank and State Department. While not near the city's major tourists attractions or main business hubs, they are easy to access from the two nearby Metrorail Stations: Dupont Circle (Red Line) and Foggy Bottom-GWU (Orange, Silver, and Blue Lines). Both are within a five- to 10-minute walk. The hotel is also walking distance from Georgetown University (five minutes) and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (15 minutes). From the hotel, it's a 15-minute ride to Reagan National Airport, 40 minutes to Dulles, and 60 minutes to BWI.

Rooms

Attractive suites with efficiency kitchenettes, seating areas, and marble-tiled bathrooms

Completely renovated in 2017, the Georgetown Inn West End has 76 suites, ranging from smaller Studios with queen beds and seating areas to Deluxe Suites featuring king beds and separate living rooms. All of the rooms have contemporary decor that includes a mix of rich, dark wood and colorful, upholstered furniture. They all also feature efficiency kitchenettes with wet bars, microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers (but no stovetop burners or ovens). Other standard amenities include large flat-screen TVs (with free HBO and Showtime), irons and ironing boards, alarm clock radios, desks, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms include shower/tub combos with marble tiling, sinks with granite counter tops, wall-mounted hairdryers, and upmarket toiletries. There's a good amount of counter space available in larger units, but it's limited in entry-level rooms. There is no room service; however, the hotel offers a grocery pick-up service and has extensive vending machines on alternating floors.

Features

Free breakfast buffet, 24-hour business center, and discounted garage parking

One of the key features of the Georgetown Inn West End is the free daily breakfast buffet that's included with every stay. It includes both hot and cold items. There's also a small 24-hour business center with a free computer and combination printer and fax machine; limited meeting space for up to 40 people; and a coin-operated laundry facility. Although the hotel doesn’t have a fitness center or pool, it does offer free access to a nearby gym. There is no on-site parking, though discounted parking is available at a nearby garage.
