This attractive hotel has been open since 2014 and it’s perhaps unsurprising that the decor is modern and understated. There's just a splash of color here and there in the lobby seating, artwork, and accessories. The hotel is arranged over 14 floors and, with its location in the quiet NoMa neighborhood, is a peaceful escape from the surrounding city streets. An outdoor pool surrounded with loungers and a terrace bar with city views help to set the relaxed vibe of the hotel. Given the amenities, along with the 24-hour nature of the hotel -- from the fitness center to the restaurant and snack bar -- it’s no surprise that business travelers are common here, but the pool and secluded terrace bar mean that couples also frequently pass through. 

The hotel's location in the NoMa neighborhood means that many of the major attractions are too far to reach on foot. Attractions that are within walking distance are the Woodward and Lothrop Service Warehouse – on the National Register of Historic Places – and St. Aloysius Church. These will take about six and 10 minutes to reach, respectively. The hotel is a six-minute walk from NoMa Galludet Metro, an eight-minute drive from the U.S. Capitol Building, and 10 minutes by car or cab to the National Museum of Congress. Central Washington sights like the White House and the Smithsonian museums will take 20 to 25 minutes to reach by metro, or 10 to 15 minutes by cab. Union Station can be reached in one stop by metro, and Washington Ronald Reagan International Airport is a 15-minute ride. Expect a 40-minute drive to Dulles Airport, depending on traffic.

The hotel has 200 rooms over 14 floors, ranging in size, with contemporary decor in neutral shades that create a plain, but fresh look. A piece or two of abstract art complement the pops of light blue in the soft furnishings, but otherwise rooms are done in taupe and brown hues with wood-panel accents. Each has a separate seating area (with sofas or sofa sleepers), desks, premium bedding, and free Wi-Fi.  Rooms also include 42-inch HD flat-screen TVs with cable channels, and pay-per-view movie options. Docking stations are included, along with irons and ironing boards, air-conditioning, and one-cup coffeemakers. The surrounding neighborhood is fairly quiet but -- as the hotel sits next to a main road -- some rooms do suffer from noise from the nearby traffic. Bathrooms are decent sized and attractive, with sleek vanities and an abundance of white tiling. They feature either shower/tub combos or showers. Counter space is limited in some rooms, and hairdryers and free toiletries are provided. 

The hotel packs in a nice amount of features, including an outdoor pool and terrace bar for relaxing and taking in views of the surrounding city. A well-equipped 24-hour fitness is available – and provides free towels – and the outdoor pool is a good size, at 550 square feet (51 square meters). The on-site restaurant is open 24 hours a day and offers a free hot-and-cold breakfast, including cooked items, a range of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, and Seattle's Best coffee. Lunches and evening meals are also available, and snacks of toasted panini or salads can be purchased around the clock and eaten in or taken out. A business center is open 24 hours as well, and there are meeting and function rooms available. There’s a coin-operated on-site laundry, and parking is available for a fee. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.
