Bottom Line

The mid-range, 147-room Coast Wenatchee Center Hotel is popular with business travelers for its skybridge that connects it to the Wenatchee Convention Center for easy access to conferences there. The hotel has its own meeting space too, as well as a banquet room attached to its ninth-floor restaurant. There's also an indoor/outdoor pool with accompanying hot tubs, as well as 24-hour fitness and business centers. Decor is dated, though, and prices seem high for its category. Travelers who don't need to be next to the convention center might want to consider the Holiday Inn Express or Comfort Inn Suites, both of which have lower rates.

Coast Wenatchee Center Hotel

Scene

Mid-range business hotel that connects to the convention center

The hotel's immediate area isn't pleasant to walk around, though the riverfront park is a short walk away, which is especially handy for guests who bring pets. The hotel's interior is more lively than the neighborhood, with a country decor brightened by potted trees and flowers. Portraits of mallards decorate the lobby's walls, with a grand piano and a fireplace on opposite ends of a faded floral carpet. Business travelers and groups make use of the ninth-floor restaurant and bar, which has a fire pit and views of the Cascade Mountains in the distance.

Location

Connected to the convention center downtown

With its central downtown location, the Coast Wenatchee Center Hotel is within easy walking distance of several restaurants and bars. It's across the street from the Wenatchee Convention Center and connected to it by a covered skybridge. The train tracks separate this block from the riverfront, but another skybridge connects the convention center to a recreational trail that runs through the green space along the Riverfront Park. The Numerica Performing Arts Center and the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center are both less than a nine-minute walk from the hotel. Expect a two-and-a-half hour drive to Seattle. The hotel operates free shuttle service to Wenatchee Airport.

Rooms

Basic decor with mini-fridges and coffeemakers

The hotel's 147 rooms come in a standard cookie-cutter layout with either two queens or one king bed. The neutral decor is on the dated side, with gray carpets and wood furnishings that could use an update. Small work desks come standard along with a pair of chairs, while King Rooms add an upholstered armchair. Flat-screen TVs are either wall-mounted or set on small dressers, which are attached to freestanding closets. Mini-fridges and coffeemakers are also included. The bathrooms have large vanities and standard shower/tub combos. Rooms on upper floors have views of the mountains or the Columbia River Valley.
