Bonaventure Resort & Spa is a massive four-pearl property popular with large groups and for events. The three swimming pools, luxe spa, and relatively fast access (via car or free shuttle) to Sawgrass Mills mall also draw families and vacationers. Most of the rooms are spacious with kitchenettes and terraces. Marble bathtubs and flat-screen TVs are nice touches. Some rooms are a bit of a trek from the main building, where Ireland's Steakhouse serves lunch and dinner, and Banyan restaurant does breakfast. The main resort pool has an adjacent cabana bar and cafe. Be warned that private groups can rent this space, limiting access to other hotel guests.

The nearest neighbor is adjacent Bonaventure Country Club -- many of the golf holes and ponds can be viewed from the resort, adding to the green landscape. Because of all the space at the hotel, it's often booked with huge corporate events, weddings, and trade shows so expect groups of people wearing name tags. Like most of the public spaces here, the lobby is big. A cluster of cream colored sofas and armchairs sits in the center of the room. A tropical aquarium marks the entrance to Zen, the lobby bar. Pollack-inspired abstract art hangs behind the long wood-paneled reception desk. Potted plants add a tropical vibe throughout the space.
