Set against the backdrop of the White Mountains, just off the main road, the enormous Omni Mount Washington Resort is impossible to miss. It's an ideal spot for travelers looking for an cozy experience in a historic setting. While the hotel is one of the most expensive in the White Mountains, its numerous amenities and activities, coupled with its classically decorated, upscale accommodations, make it worth the extra cost for many travelers. The resort is popular with families, couples, and large groups, and its on-site nine- and 18-hole golf courses, and proximity to local ski resorts, make it popular in winter and summer alike.

Oyster Hotel Review

Omni Mount Washington Resort

Scene

Ornate and luxurious, with a lot of history

The huge lobby is a bright and welcoming maze of chairs and sofas nestled around large fireplaces. It's decorated with indigenous plants and animal busts, as well as prints of nature scenes. The reception desk is directly across from the concierge, and entrances to several restaurants, ballrooms, and bars are nearby. The lobby's windows and large back porch look out onto magnificent mountain views. During the winter, it's bustling with groups of skiers while the summer months welcome active families.

Location

Quiet and scenic, with beautiful views

Tucked into the mountains, the Omni Mount Washington is notable for its breathtaking views of local scenery. The hotel is removed enough to feel peaceful and secluded, but it's still convenient to local attractions. It's a short drive from ski resorts and other local golf courses (although it has a couple of its own) and is a longer drive to several nearby towns, including Whitefield, which is 20 minutes away.
