MainStay Suites

The MainStay has the atmosphere of a chain hotel intended for convenience, with small and limited public spaces. A lobby living room features a large mirror, striped sofa, and bright-red ottomans, and the colorful breakfast room is decked out with orange and violet-hued chairs and a flat-screen TV. Guests gather here and around the indoor pool and hot tub. The hotel draws both leisure and business travelers. 

The MainStay Suites is off I-25/U.S.-87 in an area with car dealerships, a hospital, shopping center, restaurants, and several other hotels. It’s a fairly calm, and there's lots of green space. Casper Planetarium is a little less than a 10-minute drive from the hotel, as is downtown Casper with its shops, bars, restaurants, and attractions like the Nicolaysen Art Museum and Discovery Center. Casper Events Center and the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center is 10 minutes by car, and Casper College, the Tate Geological Museum, and Werner Wildlife Museum is a 15-minute drive. The 19th-century Fort Caspar is a little more than 15 minutes by car, and Hogadon Ski Area is a 25-minute drive. Casper-Natrona County International Airport is a 20-minute trip by car from the MainStay.  

The MainStay features 93 spacious efficiencies, studios, and one- and two-bedroom Suites. The units have a modern chain-hotel look but they're still fairly inviting, with light-wood furniture and art on walls. They’re done in a warm, muted color scheme, with orange accenting headboards, sofa beds with a green-and-gold leaf-print, and some have gold bedspreads or decorative throws. Each unit has a kitchen with two-burner stovetop, full-size refrigerator, sink, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, cookware, tableware, and dishwasher. Sofa beds, 32-inch flat-screen TVs (larger Suites have second TV set) with HBO, and free Wi-Fi also come standard. Larger Suites have living areas. Bathrooms are spacious and well-lighted and have hairdryers, make-up mirrors, and shower/tub combos. 

The MainStay offers a nice set of facilities for an extended-stay property. The heated swimming pool is about 15 meters long and is situated in an indoor space with a small hot tub and deck with lounger chairs. The fitness center has cardio equipment, a weight-training machine, and flat-screen TVs. There's no lunch or dinner restaurant on-site, but the hotel serves a free continental breakfast with a wide range of cold items, make-your-own pancakes, and microwaveable egg-and-sausage sandwiches. A business center, convenience store, laundry room, 24-hour front desk, and free parking are on-site, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. Housekeeping is weekly, and pets are permitted for a per-night, per-pet fee (with no weight limit).
