DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Zagreb

This hotel opened in 2012 and has a modern, functional feel with hip decor and accents. It feels more design-forward than some of the other properties in the DoubleTree chain. The mid-size reception area is bustling and there's a long black check-in desk attended by efficient, friendly staff. Guests are offered freshly baked chocolate chip cookies on arrival. The decor is contemporary and includes a flashy metallic accent wall, a large abstract mural behind the front desk, and leather seating in beige and bright citron. The stylish bar area of the OXBO Urban Bar & Grill is just off the lobby and has wooden floors and seating beside a wall of windows. Trendy looking wooden barstools with green seats are lined at the shiny black bar. The hotel's location in the business center makes it popular among corporate travelers, but tourist couples and some families also stay here. 

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Zagreb is located in the heart of Zagreb's business center. There are many restaurants, bars, and shops near the hotel. Bus and tram stops are also right across from the property. The historic tourist center is divided into Lower and Upper Town. Lower Town (Donji grad) is about 30 minutes' walk away, or 15 to 20 minutes by tram. Sights there, reached within the same time frame, include the Archaeological Museum and Botanical Garden. The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, also in Lower Town, is closer to 30 minutes by tram or an eight-minute drive. Upper Town (Gornji grad) features the Cathedral of Zagreb and the Old Town Gate (both are a 35- to 40-minute walk, 25 to 30 minutes by tram, 10 minutes by car). Zagreb Airport is about 25 minutes by car or around an hour by public transportation. 

Rooms at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Zagreb are clean and stylish with functional modern decor. The palette of grays and beiges extends to leather headboards and loveseats or chaise lounges. Mid-tone wood frames floor-to-ceiling windows and furniture includes large wardrobes. All rooms have Sweet Dreams by DoubleTree beds. There are also speakers that connect to laptops and other media devices via wall ports. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, 37-inch flat-screen TVs, safes, air-conditioning, coffee- and tea-making facilities, and minibars. Bathrooms are decorated in high-quality beige and black-marble tile. Each has plenty of counter space, a separate walk-in rainfall shower, and a shower/tub combo with handheld nozzle. Toiletries, robes and slippers, makeup mirrors, and hairdryers are provided. Suites are on the ninth and tenth floors and offer views of Zagreb. While the hotel is situated on a busy road, rooms have thick secure doors that keep noise at bay. 

Features here are modern and convenient. The OXBO Urban Bar & Grill serves a varied buffet breakfast with grilled items, but the meal is not included with rates. International and Croatian fare are served for lunch and dinner. The bar also serves coffee and cocktails. The fitness center is modern and colorful and offers a good selection of LifeFitness cardio and weight-training machines. There's also a wellness area with a sauna, steam bath, and treatment room at the hotel and use is included with rates. On a high floor, there are a pool and hot tub in a window-filled room that offers views over the city. The hotel offers a 24-hour business center as well as six meeting rooms. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Cell phone rentals are available. There is a nightly fee for parking. This hotel is pet-friendly with a deposit and weight restrictions for dogs.
