Marbled floor-to-ceiling columns add interest to the lobby, as does the square geometric ceiling, and navy blue furnishings. Upstairs, Penthouse 21 Skyscraper Bar is a much more carefree space with elephant statues and black and white framed photos of jazz musicians hanging on the walls. Some of the best (non-historic) views of Athens can be found from the pool and restaurant.

Though the neighborhood of Ampelokipoi is safe, it's not entirely geared towards tourists. Past guests have complained of excessive noise from the busy streets. There are metro stations near the President Hotel, but tourist destinations like the neighborhood of Plaka and the Parthenon are about an hour's walk away. The United States Embassy is about two miles from the hotel.
