Getting away with the kids has its perks, but sometimes, getting away from them is just what you need. And Cancun, with its gorgeous beaches and turquoise water, provides a peaceful setting to do just that. That’s why we rounded up some of our favorite Cancun resorts, where no kids are allowed. Even better, the following properties are not only adults-only — so you can enjoy some R&R sans screaming kids or splashing in the pool — but they’re also all-inclusive, meaning little to no additional planning is required. So whether you’re going on a honeymoon or taking a trip with some close friends, you’ll be sure to enjoy a warm-weather getaway in peace.
This adults-only luxury resort offers a nice all-inclusive experience with tons of variety -- multiple dining options, several beautiful pools, a gorgeous spa, and dozens of wonderful activities. The rooms here are spacious and contemporary, with large modern bathrooms, Jacuzzis, and high-end amenities such as big flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and iPod docks. Some have a large rooftop terrace with a private plunge pool with ocean views. However, note that the beach is less attractive than others farther south, and that there are no attractions nearby. Still, though, compared with the nearby, comparably luxurious Beloved Hotel, the Excellence has more to offer in terms of options. It's also quieter, since it's adults-only, so couples looking for a romantic getaway might prefer this over the Beloved.
The luxurious, 260-room Le Blanc Spa is the best (and priciest) adults-only all-inclusive in town. It stands out for its gorgeous white-sand beach in the heart of the Hotel Zone, decadent spa (guests get free access to the hydrotherapy area), stunning pools (two with swim-up bars), and especially its pampering service, from the butlers who will unpack your clothes to the pool attendants who will provide cool towels for your eyes. It has a hip, gorgeous aesthetic throughout the entire pristine white property, and the modern, bright rooms have two-person whirlpool tubs; most have either ocean or lagoon views. The chic restaurants have great food and don't require reservations (aside from the stunningly designed Lumiere). The fitness offering also impresses, and there are multiple daily classes, including aqua spinning and Pilates.
This sleek and sexy boutique hotel is a luxurious, adults-only all-inclusive located in the Playa Mujeres region just north of Cancun. It’s on a beautiful long white-sand beach -- which can have some seaweed from time to time -- and has three chic outdoor pools with food and drink service. Rooms are huge (starting at 960 square feet), all-white, and have big whirlpool tubs, as well as private balconies -- many with ocean views and some with plunge pools. The 35,000-square-foot spa is gorgeous, with an impressive hydrotherapy circuit, and the fitness center is extensive. Food at the four restaurants is excellent and a la carte, and reservations are not required; 24-hour room service is also available. Among the area's top all-inclusive resorts, the Beloved stands out as the only true boutique; Excellence Playa Mujeres right next door has a similar level of luxury, but it's a much larger resort.
The 497-room Secrets The Vine Cancun is an all-inclusive, luxury hotel with an adults-only policy. Many of the rooms have stunning sea views from the balconies, and there are luxurious touches like Italian porcelain flooring and beautiful teak wood furniture. Guests can take advantage of a huge range of activities, from yoga to wine tasting, as well as six a la carte restaurants serving a global list of cuisines including Italian, Mexican, Argentinian, and Asian. Another way to indulge is the on-site spa, which has 14 treatment rooms, a sauna, and a steam room, plus there are four beautiful outdoor pools to choose from. The beachfront location is ideal for tourists wanting to relax, but it's also a short drive to several attractions.
This 307-room hacienda-style resort on a pristine stretch of beach in the Hotel Zone is one of the area's top all-inclusive luxury options for adults only. The stylish, colonial-style rooms all have balconies with phenomenal ocean views, which are also enjoyed from the whirlpool tubs. Food is excellent at the six restaurants, especially for an all-inclusive resort; the Mexican food at Maria Marie and Asian food at Asiana are particular favorites, and no reservations are required (except for the teppanyaki show and Chef's Plate). The sprawling, beachfront infinity pool is stunning, with a giant swim-up bar at its center. The spa and huge gym (complete with an outdoor lap pool!) also impress, and there are plenty of fun activities, from the weekly foam party to tequila tastings to the live evening shows.
Designed to appeal to all of your senses, the 371-room Live Aqua all-inclusive luxury resort is for adults only. Contemporary upscale decor with artistic and modern details are found floor-to-ceiling, from the lily pad pond entrance to the linen-draped beach cabana beds. The resort's vibe is best suited for those seeking a pampered vacation and an atmosphere of modern affluence. This is one of the best luxury options in Cancun and most guests find very little to complain about. However, the food and beverage service and quality occasionally miss the mark.
Oasis Sens is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort notable for its emphasis on a chilled-out, fun, and risque ambience. Rooms are simple, but have interesting touches such as mood lighting -- some suites also have private plunge pools or whirlpool tubs. The terraced swimming pool complex is nicer than most, while the beach is typical of Cancun, with beautiful white sand and turquoise water. Eating and drinking options within the all-inclusive plan are many and varied, but expect to stand in line at lunchtime.
The mid-range Golden Parnassus (not to be confused with the Great Parnassus up the beach) is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort in Cancun's popular Hotel Zone. Sure, the white nondescript structure pales in comparison to the luxurious Ritz-Carlton next door, but the laid-back vibe and friendly staff -- who go out of their way to make sure everyone has fun -- draws many repeat guests. All 214 rooms come with small furnished balconies and marble baths, and the "club" level rooms have extras such as double Jacuzzis, bathrobes, and free fruit baskets. The room decor is basic but fresh -- bare walls, neutral tones, and light wood floors. And the bathrooms, though a bit dark as far as lighting goes, have spacious showers and ample counter space. There are five restaurants to choose from, serving fare from Mexican to Japanese, and most guests find at least one they really like. The pool is large, as at most at Cancun all-inclusives, but this one doesn't have a swim-up bar -- a bit of a letdown at an adults-only hotel. On that note, this place can get a bit rowdy, so guests looking to relax in their room at night should ask for a higher floor on the lagoon side of the resort.
The Temptation Cancun Resort is an adults-only, topless-optional property that caters to 21 and over, uninhibited guests. There is never a dull moment at this all-inclusive resort, which features themed swimming pools and risqué live shows. Fun-seeking singles and couples will find a range of entertainment, including provocative games and contests. The spacious rooms exude a romantic atmosphere, and while the beach area is small compared to other resorts, the shaded sun beds are a nice place to relax and unwind.
The Paradisus Cancun is an all-inclusive, upscale mega-resort whose five interconnected pyramids overlook the gorgeous white sands and perfect blue waters of the Mexican Caribbean. Its 668 rooms are all smart and spacious with sea or lagoon views, but some are only partial. While breakfast can get busy, there's no shortage of restaurants and bars to choose from and the huge pool never feels crowded. The impressive spa, large fitness center, and nine-hole golf course are also notable features here. And though the property does welcome families with kids, it does offer the Royal Service adults-only option, which includes a range of super-luxe perks such as private beach area, priority reservations and service throughout the resort, and butler service including a personal cell phone for all-day communication. Royal Service guests also have a private swimming pool area, exclusive breakfast service at La Palapa restaurant, and access to the Royal Service Lounge with top-quality all-day buffets and top-shelf drinks.
