Hyatt House Charleston is a fairly new (built in 2015) chain hotel with fresh, modern, and sophisticated interiors. The lobby is a warm and inviting space with white walls, white tiles with warm-colored carpets, several seating areas, a few potted plants, and a marble-topped reception desk. Decor is kept to a minimum, baring a lovely collection of framed photographs from around the city in one of the lounge areas. There's a relaxing outdoor patio space with a few wicker seats and loungers topped with bright orange cushions, as well as a central fire pit. The breakfast area offers a relaxing environment, with a combination of cafe-style and bar-style brown leather seats as well as a lounge area with sofas and a flat-screen TV. Guests here are a combination of leisure and business travelers, with both the location and features suiting both.

Hyatt House Charleston is ideally located in the trendy and charming Upper King Historic District of Charleston, within walking distance to several attractions. There are a handful of shops, bars, and restaurants within a close walking distance. Attractions like The Joseph Manigault House, The Charleston Museum, and The Aiken-Rhett House are all within about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The College of Charleston is about a 16-minute walk or three-minute drive away. The South Carolina Aquarium, the Historic Charleston City Market, and Gibbes Museum of Art are each a six-minute drive from the hotel. The Charleston Area Convention Center is 15 minutes by car. A public parking lot, owned by the City of Charleston, is located adjacent to the hotel (for additional charges). There's a bus stop a two-minute walk from the hotel. It's a 15-minute drive to Charleston International Airport.

Decor is modern and sophisticated with wooden vinyl floors, neutral-tones on the walls, contemporary artwork, and clean-lined furniture. Amenities in all rooms include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, microwaves, tea- and- coffee-making facilities, desks, telephones, irons and ironing boards, and free Wi-Fi. There's a nearby parking lot with self-service and valet options, but it's pricey.
