  • Spacious rooms have mini-fridges and microwaves

  • Outdoor pool

  • Computer and printer in the lobby

Cons
  • Denver airport is nearly 20 minutes away

  • Furniture and decor are tired and dated

  • Hotel has smoking rooms (pro for some)

Bottom Line

As of spring 2015, this Quality Inn located just off of
Interstate 70 in northeast Denver was about to be rebranded as a Rodeway Inn. The
two-pearl roadside hotel resembles a budget motel from the outside and could use some
updating in furniture and upholstery. All the same, rooms are spacious and include a mini-fridge and microwave. Breakfast is plentiful and free, but, 20 minutes to the airport is a bit of a trek for a hotel with airport in its name.

Scene

Bright and clean with old, dated, chain-style furnishings

Frequented mostly by construction and oil workers, this
two-story hotel more closely resembles a motor inn both inside and out. The lobby and breakfast areas are bright and welcoming but, like the rooms, equipped
with older and worn furniture, curtains, lamps, and upholstery. The walls are adorned with landscape pictures of mountains and rock formations, and a lounge area
has an ATM, couch, chairs, coffee table, and a well-used communal
computer. The breakfast area is adjoining, and consists of old, simple tables and
chairs, a juice and griddle counter, and a TV in one corner.

Location

Desolate, isolated neighborhood nearly a 20-minute drive from both downtown and the airport

The hotel is in
northeast Denver at the intersection of Interstate 70 -- Colorado’s main
artery to Denver International Airport and the mountains -- and I-225, putting virtually
every location in Denver within driving access. Denver International
Airport is still a drive: about 18 minutes without traffic. The Denver Zoo is
about 13 minutes away by car, and downtown Denver is less than
20 minutes away. The Stapleton neighborhood and CU hospital are about a seven-minute drive away. There's little of interest around the hotel, though; there is a Denny’s in the same
parking lot and a Starbucks about 13 minutes (walking) down the road. Expect a 20-minute drive to the airport.

Rooms

Spacious but tired, with worn and mismatched chain furnishings

Although relatively clean and extremely spacious, with sofa sitting areas next to beds, the rooms could
unquestionably use an update. Curtains are heavy and old, while bed coverings,
furniture, and carpets don’t match, and mattresses are thin. The wooden dresser
and nightstands are chipped and scratched. Bathrooms are clean, however, with
ample counter space and large shower/tub combinations. Each room has reliable
Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, microwave, safe, hairdryer, and ironing
facilities. Some rooms allow smoking.

Features

Outdoor pool, and free parking, breakfast, and Wi-Fi

This basic hotel offers a free buffet breakfast, Wi-Fi, and parking. There are soda and vending machines, as well as a computer and printer
available for guests' use. There's also a seasonal outdoor pool.
