Bottom Line
The 58-room Oh! Oasis in Cancun is an adult-only, upper-middle-range hotel offering modern rooms, a pool, nightclub, restaurant, and a prime location in the heart of the downtown district just 15 minutes on foot from Plaza Las Americas. Guests are 20 to 30 minutes from the beach, although buses and taxis are available from just down the street. There are some unexpected perks for this price range, including shared services with the Smart Cancun by Oasis next door, Smart cars for rent, and an art gallery inside the main lobby, which add to the value. Hotel Ibis and Fiesta Inn Las Americas farther down Tulum Avenue are comparable experiences with better views over the Hotel Zone and lagoon.

A modern hotel with lots of features for the price that draws mostly leisure travelers
The Oh! Oasis draws mostly leisure visitors from the United States and Canada, while sister hotel Smart Cancun by Oasis next door draws more business guests. The two properties share facilities; the pool and restaurant are located here, while the business center and coffee shop are next door. The hotel is situated directly on Tulum Avenue next to the Telmex offices, and a small covered passageway connects the two sister properties: The Smart is to the right and the Oh! to the left. Front and center are the Smart cars that the hotel rents out to guests who want to explore the surrounding Riviera Maya. The main check-in is located at Smart Cancun by Oasis, but guests can pay a fee for private check-in directly in the Oh! lobby.
On either side of the hotel are the Coffee & Me bistro, and the Crazy Hot Coyote nightclub. There are trendy, cheeky touches throughout, from the nightclubs provocative model photos behind the toilets to the colorful pop art decor accents (especially in Pop Art lounge and art gallery) to the "Oasis Loves U" slogan on the Smart cars. The adult-only policy and trendy scene at Crazy Hot Coyote definitely makes this hotel well-suited for couples and partiers. There is usually some sort of lively event happening on-site, from foam parties at the pool to themed costume parties, to fashion shows, to live music performances.
While the hotel isn’t located near the beaches of Cancun, the east-facing rooms on the upper floors have views over the Hotel Zone, while the west-facing rooms look out over the city.
Location
In the heart of downtown Cancun on Avenida Tulum near Avenue Coba
The Oh!
Oasis is set smack-dab in the center of Tulum Avenue, known for its restaurants and shopping. Catty-corner to the hotel and roughly
five minutes away on foot is the Chedraui supermarket downtown
location, which has numerous buses and taxis passing directly in front of it. The R1 buses on Tulum head to the Hotel Zone and beaches, and on Coba are buses for those heading deeper into the mainland to places such as Sam’s Club or Walmart.
North on Tulum Avenue are the majority of souvenir shops and small eateries, and around
15 minutes in the same direction is Parque Las Palapas, a tranquil plaza that transforms into an event space on weekends with live bands, theatrical performances,
food stands, and clothing merchants. To the south on Tulum are more restaurants and, after about 15 minutes on foot, Plaza Las
Americas, the mainland's largest mall.
Rooms
Modern rooms with pop art touches, work stations, and views over the city
The 58 rooms are modern and understated, with neutral tones and the occasional colorful pop art touch (such as a colorful painting of Frida Kahlo above the coffee area). Beds are adorned with casual grey, white, and black coverings, with grey marble tile floors matching the hallways outside. Amenities include 42-inch flat-screen TVs with basic cable,
mini-fridges, coffeemakers, two packets of coffee, water, and iPod consoles. Work stations vary, and may be made up of desks and chairs, or S-shaped lounge chairs with adjustable lap desks. Hairdryers, ironing boards, irons, and safes can be found within the closets.
There are no minibars, but there are empty mini-fridges that guests can stock with drinks from the downstairs bars and restaurants. Room service is available during the operating hours of the restaurant.
Of the 52
Standard Rooms, 37 have king-size beds and 15 have two double beds. While
some of the rooms have showers, others have shower/tub combos;
guests need to specifically ask for a bath if they prefer one. The four Junior Suites and two Master Suites come with king-size beds, small
living rooms, and in the Master Suites, whirlpool tubs. Rooms have views of the pool, Hotel Zone, or city and preferences need to be stated before booking.
Features
Meeting space, garden and pool area, restaurant, gym, nightclub, café, and downtown access
The downstairs L-shape pool is attractive, and surrounded by white loungers and daybeds. The pool bar is aptly named White Terrace, and serves drinks as well as lunch and afternoon snacks. Next to the pool is a gym with a variety of cardio and weight equipment, plus fresh juice and water.
The Coffee & Me cafe is next door at Smart Cancun by Oasis, while the Mega Bites restaurant is located here and serves all three meals. The Pop Art bar (open from late afternoon until night) is surrounded by an art gallery that is open 24/7, and there's a balcony on this level with loungers overlooking the pool. The Crazy Hot Coyote nightclub has dark, trendy decor and is open every night except Sunday (with later hours on weekends).
The meeting spaces are broken up into four different areas. The Grand Salon Tulum can hold up to 600 people in a theater format, while the Tulum I has a maximum of 150 spaces available. The Tulum II can seat up to 300, and the Akumal can hold up to 20.
Parking is available for guests behind the hotel. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
