Restored and opened in the 1980s as one three Historic House Hotels, the upscale Bodysgallen Hall & Spa has immaculately maintained period features and ambience. Aged oakwood paneling, gilt-framed oil paintings, antique furnishings, and plump homey sofas create the timeless atmosphere of a country manor that's formal without being too stuffy. The gardens are peaceful and superb, with expertly sculpted dwarf hedges, lily-pad ponds, and croquet lawn dotted with buttercups. The 22 rooms -- some located in the main building, some cottages with small private gardens -- are all traditionally styled with a few luxury touches. The Dining Room offers outstanding breakfast, lunch, and dinners in elegant surroundings overlooking the gardens, and is also known as one of the finest places in the area for Sunday roasts. The spa is located in a restored stone farmhouse in the garden; it features a 50-foot indoor swimming pool, spa bath, steam room, and sauna.

This upscale, Victorian-era property has a prime beachfront location overlooking Llandudno's sandy beach. St. George's makes full use of its excellent sea views -- its dining areas offer water-facing windows and terraces, and some of the 76 rooms have furnished verandas that overlook the beach (St. George's is one of the few area hotels with this feature). The rooms are modern with a brown-beige-and-gray color schemes, and come with flat-screen TVs, digital radios, tea and coffee facilities, and free Wi-Fi. A full Welsh breakfast is included in the rate. Note that there is no spa or fitness center, and the lower-priced rooms can feel cramped, though overall this is a charming option in the heart of this popular Welsh resort. 

Located a few minutes from Llandudno's beachfront promenade and pier, this third-generation family-run hotel has a stately Victorian facade and an elegant upscale ambience. Note that 54 of the hotel's 62 guest rooms are located in the main building, with the remaining eight in a separate, adjacent town house without an elevator. All rooms are air-conditioned, and include tea and coffee facilities, mini-fridges, 32-inch flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are finished in Italian marble and have Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Spa facilities are particularly impressive, with both indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, steam room, and whirlpool. The hotel's restaurant offers a buffet and cooked-to-order breakfast each morning (included in the room rate), and is open for dinner and Sunday lunch, with a daily-changing table d'hote menu. The Poolside Restaurant, overlooking the hotel's indoor swimming pool, provides more informal dining, while a cocktail bar serves drinks accompanied by live piano music.  

This adult-only Victorian boutique hotel has a welcoming bed-and-breakfast ambience and just 14 rooms, all of which are individually decorated with fresh modern, yet homey style. Many rooms have elegant chandeliers, and some offer large bay windows with sea views. Standard amenities include free Wi-Fi, 32-inch flat-screen TVs with DVD players, and courtesy trays with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, and bottled water. The hotel's breakfast service is excellent and included in the rate. Afternoon tea is also available and there's a small lounge with an honesty bar providing hot and cold drinks throughout the day.
