Generously landscaped grounds with plenty of flowers and greenery
Rooms have balconies and shower/tub combos in bathrooms
Restaurant and two bars, one poolside
Sunny pool with lots of lounge chairs
Free public parking
Free Wi-Fi in the lobby
No entertainment/special activities for children
The Hotel Blue Sea La Pinta is a simple and clean, but unremarkable budget hotel, just a street away from the beautiful beach of Cala Millor. The 130 rooms vary, even within the same category, and while some are more contemporary, many are dated, right down to their tube TVs. On-site amenities include a pool with plenty of lounge chairs, a pinball machine, and a restaurant. However, unlike many hotels in the area, La Pinta lacks a kids' club and a playground. The nearby Hipotel Hotel Don Juan might be better for families, as it offers a kids' pool and specialized activities for children.
Scene
Simple, clean, and no-frills hotel near the beach
The Hotel Blue Sea La Pinta is basic, clean, and nicely maintained, but with few frills or flourishes. The crisp white exterior is impressively well-maintained, as are the interiors, despite somewhat dated furniture and decor. Its proximity to the beach, small local shops and friendly bars makes it especially popular with British tourists seeking a sunny getaway, but its lack of kid-friendly options means that most of the guests here are couples without kids in tow or vacationing friends.
Location
A one-minute walk from local shops, bars, and the beach
A beautiful beach is just a one-minute walk from the hotel, as are plenty of cafes, restaurants, and loads of little shops selling the usual tourist knickknacks. It's a pleasant area for a sunny stroll and despite being commercial, the neighborhood still feels quaint and local. The hotel is on a quiet street and unlike many others in its category, it does not have an entertainment team inciting guests to dance, sing, or participate in group activities at the pool. The Palma Airport is a one-hour drive away on the polar opposite side of the island, but the charming areas of Arta and Porto Cristo can both be reached in under 20 minutes by car. There's also a public bus stop just behind the hotel.
Rooms
A wide range of quality for the Standard Rooms
This hotel is part of a larger chain of value hotels, and with 130 rooms, it offers plenty of variety. That said, there is a significant difference in room quality at this property, even within the same category. For example, some Standard Rooms have flat-screen TVs, crisp bedding, vividly painted furniture, and tasteful artwork, while others come with tube TVs, dated light fixtures, drab furniture, and saggy beds. Shower/tub combos are standard in all bathrooms, but don't expect a hairdryer. Overall, the balconies offer great views of the nicely landscaped grounds below, and you're likely to catch a glimpse of the ocean from higher-floor rooms.
Features
Lively bar and pool area plus cheerful restaurant and free lobby Wi-Fi
The hotel features a spacious outdoor patio and a pool surrounded by plenty of lounge chairs, with a convenient and popular outdoor bar with a billiards table on one side. Inside, there's a dining room decorated in cheerful shades of blue and an unremarkable indoor bar with a claw-grab machine full of stuffed animals and a Flintstones pinball machine. Wi-Fi is available in the lobby free of charge.
