Hotel THB Mirador

This waterfront property was refurbished in 2009 and its interiors are a mix of classic, dated, and modern elements. Cool interior color schemes in the lobby contrast with brown leather sofas and a variety of artwork, with large windows letting in plenty of natural light. Even so, the mix of old-school pieces, eye-catchingly hued marble, and light wood-veneer surfaces can come across as a bit tired. A rooftop terrace offers views of the marina and Mediterranean Sea, with sunny and shaded areas for reading or relaxing. Those views are on offer from some of the hotel's rooms as well. Given the location and relaxed vibe, it’s no surprise that couples are the main guests here, but families and groups of friends also regularly pass through. 

Hotel Mirador has a prime location that overlooks the city's busy marina and Paseo Maritimo, the popular seafront thoroughfare. Palma's Hard Rock Cafe is five minutes away on foot, and there are numerous bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Pleasant strolls along the city's waterfront can be a nice way to access the city center, and depending on the destination will take anywhere from 15 to 25 minutes. Otherwise, it's a five- to 10-minute drive to the exclusive Passeig del Born shopping area, and 10 to 15 minutes to the area around the city's stunning cathedral. The upscale Santa Clarita neighborhood, with its plethora of bars and restaurants, can be reached on foot in nine minutes and those wanting wild nightlife can catch a cab to the center of Magaluf in around 15 to 20 minutes. Rooms range from Singles to Suites and all are similar in style and layout, with flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. Safes and minibars can be requested for an additional fee, and larger units have separate seating areas or private terraces -- some with excellent sea views. Decor is basic, and consists of a blend of dated and modern elements. Expect nice details like faux suede headboards alongside blond wood paneling, while often eye-catching marble tiles line the floors. Large windows do keep rooms looking fresh and bright, though the location of the hotel on a busy road means traffic noise is an issue. Bathrooms are reasonably fresh given recent alterations, with fully tiled interiors, ample counter space, and showers. Some bathrooms can be cramped while others feature shower/tub combos. Toiletries and hairdryers are provided. Accessible rooms are also available.

This hotel has a enough quality features to make it a decent pick. A hot and cold breakfast is served each morning, and can be eaten in the restaurant or on the rooftop terrace during warmer months. It's not included in the nightly rates. The restaurant also offers an a la carte menu for lunches and evening meals, though bookings are required. Loungers and shaded tables and chairs are arranged on the rooftop patio -- which has views of the marina -- and a smart covered outdoor dining area, where visitors can relax with drinks or snacks. The ground floor bar serves a tapas menu and range of drinks. There's a small indoor swimming pool as well as a sauna, hot tub, and traditional hammam. A small fitness center is available, though equipment and space is limited. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Parking is available in an adjacent public lot for a fee.
