There's few other luxury hotels in the area, and visitors seeking a boutique property in the heart of the action might want to consider the Courtyard @ Heeren Boutique Hotel, directly on energetic Jonker Walk, where rates are far cheaper.

The hotel has a predictable style that's pleasant and modern, if a little tired, and its 496 rooms include free Wi-Fi and mini-fridges. The property has an outdoor pool and tennis court, a fitness center, and a spa. There are several dining options, including a Peranakan restaurant and a buffet restaurant that earns good reviews from guests. Unlike the nearby Hatten Hotel Melaka, breakfast isn’t free and there’s no free shuttle, so it may be worth comparing rates.
