Bottom Line

A business hotel outside the city center, Atahotel Quark offers 283 spacious rooms with mini-fridges, and some rooms have large balconies. Decor is dated, and guests complain that the upper-mid-range hotel has a cold, impersonal vibe. There is a bar on-site serving pricey drinks, and a restaurant that earns good reviews for its cuisine. The hotel has 38 meeting rooms, two plenary rooms, and parking for a fee. The hotel is closed during the summer for a month. Guests searching for an easier commute should compare rates with ATAHOTEL Linea Uno Residence, a upper-mid-range hotel offering apartments with kitchenettes across from a metro station northeast of the city.

Scene

This large chain hotel caters to business travelers.

Atahotel Quark is a large hotel in a somewhat isolated area. The entrance to the hotel is adorned with trees and hedges, and there’s a seating area under a covered patio with black tables, couches, and chairs where guests can relax. Inside, the lobby is spacious and classic with a few interesting touches like white mod couches and bright purple floor planters. There’s an elegant restaurant on-site with mint green walls, ornate chairs, and pretty table linens. Guests complain the hotel has a cold vibe, which is evidenced in the lobby bar that isn’t very lounge-y. It has the same marbled flooring as the rest of the lobby, and there are a handful of tables and chairs, but no barstools.

Location

In a somewhat isolated location south of the city center

The hotel is in a somewhat isolated location that isn’t in a convenient spot for tourists, though there is plenty of greenery in the area. There’s a McDonald’s within a five-minute drive. It’s around a 20-minute walk to the nearest metro station and almost an hour from the city’s central station via public transportation. Both the University of Milan and Linate Airport can be reached within a 20-minute drive.

Rooms

Spacious rooms -- some with large balconies and walk-in closets

Rooms at Atahotel Quark have a formal, albeit dated, feel with sconce lights, floor-length curtains, and carpeting decorated with maroon vine patterns. Rooms are quite spacious and furnished with wooden desks, maroon fabric couches, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridges. Coffee/tea facilities are available in executive rooms and suites. Some rooms have walk-in closets and large balconies overlooking green lawns. Bathrooms are dated with old hairdryers and shower/tub combinations. Wi-Fi is available for a fee.

Features

Restaurant, lobby bar, and small fitness center

Atahotel Quark has a restaurant that earns good reviews for its cuisine. There’s also a lobby bar on-site, though there is limited seating and guests complain drinks are pricey. The hotel has a small fitness center and an internet corner with two computers and a printer. There are 38 meeting rooms and two plenary rooms available for private events, and parking is available for a fee.
