NH Munchen Messe

Located in a business area outside of the city center, NH Munchen Messe occupies a modern U-shaped building with a bright red-and-gray facade. The interiors are neat and clean but generic; this is a typical business hotel with a corporate vibe and a functional look that lacks character. The lobby area is devoid of decoration and is dominated by a long curved reception counter. Furnishings are kept to a minimum, limited to a few armchairs and tables arranged next to the large windows. The overwhelming majority of guests here are business travelers attending meetings or events at the nearby Munchen Messe exhibition center or Am Moosfeld Business Park.

NH Munchen Messe is in the Zamdorf district, east of the city center and close to the A94 highway. The Munchen Messe exhibition center is close by, as is the Am Moosfeld Business Park, an office and technology park. It's a convenient location for business travelers attending events at these corporate venues, but otherwise, the area does not offer much of interest to the average tourist. There's a bus stop in front of the hotel, and the Berg am Laim S-Bahn station is about a 15-minute walk away, offering direct connections to the city center. There's not much in the area in terms of dining options or shopping, though a handful of nearby eateries include a Burger King and a Chinese restaurant.

Guest rooms at NH Munchen Messe are generously sized, with an uncluttered and modern streamlined look devoid of embellishments. The bare white walls give the rooms a stark look, while a lime green or soft gray accent wall breaks up the monotony. Some rooms have large attractive photo murals of Munich's heritage buildings. Gray curtains framing large windows and gray wall-to-wall carpeting contribute to the subdued vibe. 

Air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, minibars, and safes are standard in-room amenities, while Superior Rooms have extras like bathrobes, Nespresso machines, and electric kettles. Irons and ironing boards as well as electrical adapters are available on request. The white tile bathrooms look stark and functional, but are well equipped with shower/tub combos, hairdryers, magnifying mirrors, and toiletries. Accessible rooms are available, as well as interconnected rooms for families or groups traveling together. 

This NH outpost offers a good range of facilities that cater to business travelers and are a convenience in the area, as there's not much nearby. The on-site restaurant serves an a la carte menu of regional and European fare for lunch and dinner, as well as a buffet breakfast (not included in the room rates) with a variety of hot and cold items. An “Earlybird Breakfast” is also available for guests who need to leave the hotel before the buffet opens. The lobby bar serves soft drinks, beer, wine, and cocktails, and has an adjacent outdoor terrace done up to look like a typical Bavarian beer garden.

The hotel's spa facilities are charged extra and include a fitness center, sauna, steam room, and changing facilities. The fitness center is equipped with two treadmills, a cross-trainer, an exercise bike, bench press, and free weights. Massages can be booked in advance at reception.

Nine on-site meeting rooms are available for business meeting and events and are set up with audiovisual equipment and video conference facilities. Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the hotel. Other services include baggage storage, currency exchange, dry cleaning, and laundry. On-site parking is charged an expensive extra fee. The hotel's pet policy allows dogs and cats of a maximum height of 15 inches, and are subject to an extra fee. (Guide dogs are not charged extra.)
