A mid-2000s construction boom in Panama City Beach resulted in the mass development of high-rise condos and hotels. Here, we help you find the best one for you and your crew.
This extremely kid-friendly, beachfront condo property is centrally located in Panama City Beach. Decor varies from condo to condo, but all 276 units are spacious and come with kitchens, washers/dryers, and big balconies with sweeping Gulf views. Common features include an interactive water park, lazy river, arcade with mini bowling alley, ice cream shop, and seasonal cafe.
Wyndham Panama City Beach Vacation Resort is situated in a high-rise tower connected to Emerald Beach Resort via a skywalk over the highway. The two resorts share facilities, including the two outdoor pools, a hot tub, and kids' pool. Other features include a Starbucks, two bars (one of which is poolside), and a well-equipped fitness center. What makes this mid-range time-share property stand out is that the decor in all 400 units is pretty consistent, though it is still a bit bland. There's a full, modern kitchen in every room with a refrigerator, oven, microwave, coffee machine, and toaster. Guests receive a welcome package with coffee and microwave popcorn. All units have furnished balconies with gorgeous Gulf views (higher floors have better views and less noise).
This enormous double high-rise resort is one of the nicer properties in the area, with private beach access, two pools, and a convenient location just one block away from Pier Park. Each of the 600 rooms are equipped with expected condo amenities such full kitchens with dishwashers and washer/dryers. The inside of the resort is a bit dated, but the location and beach access cannot be beat. Like Splash, decor varies widely between condos.
Majestic Beach Towers is a beachfront condo property with great views and tons of amenities. Room types range from basic studios to three-bedroom suites, almost all with private balconies and kitchens with full-size refrigerators and washer/dryers. There are five pools, an arcade, movie theater, and seasonal restaurant. The third-floor fitness center is a standout, with dozens of cardio and strength-training machines, free weights, and a refrigerator stocked with beverages.
One of Panama City Beach's many high-rise resorts, Emerald Isle has a great oceanfront location on a flawless white-sand beach. Same as Splash (and as most condo resorts in the area), individual unit decor varies greatly and can set the tone of a visit. No matter the decor, all units have spacious kitchens and large, rounded balconies. The most common complaints here are about parking issues and the small pools, but the direct access to a white-sand beach and the Gulf views are outstanding assets.
Long Beach Resort is a budget condo complex on long stretch of beach. The 85 condos range in size from two-person studios to three-bedroom units that can sleep up to eight. All units, except the smallest Efficiency condos, have full kitchens with ovens, refrigerators, microwaves, and dishwashers as well as cookware and tableware. All rooms also have TVs with cable channels. Guests complain that Wi-Fi can be spotty, and some rooms have dated furnishings and rusty doors. Balconies are spacious with gorgeous Gulf views and patio furniture. While Emerald Isle is kid-friendly, Long Beach Resort has an adult-only policy.
Even compared to amenities-heavy hotels like Splash and Majestic, the enormous Edgewater Beach and Golf Resort offers generous features, including 11 pools, a golf course, and on-site dining options. All 500 condo units come with a full kitchen, dishwasher, and washer/dryer, but some are older and have dated, worn decor. During summer, movies are screened outdoors at the main pool.
