Best Panama City Beachfront Hotels

The beautifully designed Westin Playa Bonita is located across the canal from Panama City, on the beach of Panama Bay. The beach is more about ocean views than swimming -- for that, there are four pools with a lovely waterfront setting. They pools feature islands of palm trees, sunbeds in wading sections, a volleyball net, a whirlpool, and fountains. Shaded wicker loungers, cabanas, and fresh towels are all free. There are also five good restaurants, including a fresh fish grill, Asian eatery, and an elegant Latin steakhouse. The 611 rooms offer Westin’s signature bedding, separate showers and tubs, minibars, and iPod docks, with options for kitchenettes and access to the exclusive Executive Club. Some rooms have furnished balconies and others have large picture windows with lovely views. 

The quality and service at Dreams Delight Playa Bonita Panama isn't as consistent as what's found at the Westin, just up the beach toward Panama City. Still, this all-inclusive resort features sprawling grounds surrounded by forests and water, as well as gorgeous pools, a luxury spa, and fun kids’ club with activities like movies on the beach. While there are loungers lining the quiet beach, the water is not always swimmable (check the flag first). There five restaurants here too, but they get mixed reviews. Rooms are relaxing and modern, outfitted with minibars, robes, coffeemakers, and contemporary decor.
