Though this is a decent pick for both couples and families who want a tranquil setting, don't expect easy access to golf courses, despite the hotel's name, as it's a 10-minute drive to the nearest one.

Despite the name, the closest golf course to Hotel La Laguna Spa and Golf, La Marquesa Golf, is 10 minutes away by car. A handful of others are 15 to 20 minutes away. The hotel is within walking distance of two large and attractive lagoons, Laguna Salada de la Mata and Laguna Salada de la Torreveija, but the nearest beach is a 10-minute drive away, in the town of Guardamar. A handful of restaurants and supermarkets are within a 10-minute walk. Alicante is a 45-minute drive away, while transfers to the city’s airport take 35 minutes.

Lower-category rooms have a double bed, bedside tables, a desk, and chair, plus a wall-mounted flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, and safe.
