The fountains leading up to the hotel are unique and the lobby is minimalistic yet modern with oddly decorated metallic pillars, unusually shaped banquettes, and seemingly random tribal-print throw cushions. Like most of the hotel, it feels more functional than flavorful. The hotel has recently landscaped gardens with lots of grassy lawns along with palm trees and bougainvilleas. Play areas for children make the Mercure a reasonable choice for families, although the overall vibe is that of a business hotel and many of the guests are in town for work rather than relaxation.
