Oyster Hotel Review

Rama Candidasa Resort & Spa

Scene

Authentic Balinese feel with an open-air design and amazing ocean views

A peaceful and relaxing atmosphere defines this open-air hotel, with magnificent ocean views throughout the property. Multicolored dark tile, pitched wooden ceilings, and modern wood furniture with soft yellow cushions adorn the lobby, while the design allows in a lot of natural light. The contemporary Garpu Restaurant is likewise airy and contemporary, with wood and gray stone floors, a buffet area with thatched awnings, and colorfully cushioned wood furniture with charming rattan accents. An outdoor seating area on a wooden deck is surrounded by palm trees and offers awesome ocean views, and there is a lovely gray stone bar topped with yellow melons. The outdoor lobby of the Rama Spa is filled with earthy wooden couches with tan cushions, and leads into the bright interior, where dark tile combines with white walls and red and pink accents -- down to the flower petals in the soaking tubs. The library is comfortable with tan wicker furniture, large windows, and a big wooden table where guests -- typically families and couples, including honeymooners -- can relax with a book plucked from one of the tall, carved wooden shelves. Marvelous, well-maintained grounds include lots of trees and flowers, stone fountains, ponds, and a gazebo surrounded by greenery. There are no elevators at this property.
