A bustling city with historic architecture, a renowned nightlife, and world-class museums, Barcelona is one of Spain's most-visited cities. Though it also attracts millions of tourists, it sees a good number of business travelers as well. For those working visitors, finding a hotel with a good location, free Wi-Fi, and meeting spaces is important. After visiting hundreds of Barcelona hotels, we did the work so you don't have to; we evaluated how every feature stacks up against the competition, from the rooms to the pools to the restaurants. So if you're planning a business trip and need a place to start, you've come to the right place. Take a look at our expert picks for the best business hotels in Barcelona and start planning your trip!

  1. The 276-room Majestic Hotel & Spa has a prime location, steps from designer shops and Gaudi monuments, and blocks from corporate offices and the metro. It's a popular spot for business meetings, and has IT support for presentations. All rooms were renovated in 2011, giving them a fresh, modern feel. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, stocked minibars, Nespresso machines, work desks with comfy seating, and interesting art. Spacious marble bathrooms have Bulgari toiletries, bathrobes, and rainfall showerheads. Other hotel highlights include a small rooftop pool and a rooftop terrace with an atmospheric bar and great city views; a contemporary on-site spa; and a fitness center. The restaurant serves a morning breakfast buffet and evening tapas; the bar offers live piano music; and the business center has free Internet.

  2. The 98-room Mandarin Oriental is one of the most luxurious hotels in Barcelona, and certainly has one of the most recognizable hotel brand names in the city. It has a great location on Passeig de Gracia, and offers all the high-end amenities one would expect from the chain, including a rooftop dipping pool, a beautiful spa, and numerous restaurants (one has a Michelin star). Business amenities include laptops, printers, or mobile phones that can be delivered to rooms, as well as meeting spaces with projection capabilities. All-white rooms are sleek, and some have balconies, but layouts can be a bit awkward. While the service is excellent, some guests complain about street noise and there is a pesky fee for Wi-Fi.

  3. For an upscale property in the Eixample neighborhood, near some of Barcelona's best dining and shopping, Hotel Omm is hard to beat. A suitable choice for business or leisure travelers, the hotel has all the amenities one would expect of a luxury property: a rooftop swimming pool with city views, a hot nightclub with table service, a spa that’s open daily, and the Michelin-starred restaurant Roca Moo. Rooms are elegant and spacious, some with balconies and views and all with flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi.

  4. The Gran Hotel Princesa Sofia is a convenient, luxury option for travelers coming to watch an FC Barcelona game (the stadium is only an eight-minute walk away). It's a five-minute walk to metro station Maria Christina, and a 20-minute trip to Plaza Catalunya. The 15-storied building has 500 spacious rooms with classy furnishings and marble bathrooms. A rooftop bar offers gorgeous city views, and there’s an outdoor beer garden with picnic tables, as well as a spa with an outdoor heated pool and hot tub. The large fitness center has a variety of machines, including several treadmills, but it can get busy.

  5. The 105-room Casa Fuster is an upscale historic boutique near high-end shopping and Modernist architecture. The building itself is one of the most prominent examples of this style, with an elaborate façade and ornate marble interiors. Elegant rooms have pastel-colored walls, oversized headboards, and great amenities such as flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, Loewe toiletries, and surround sound systems. Some even have small in-room saunas, balconies and hydro-massage showers. But quarters can be tight, and king-size beds are really two smaller beds pushed together. Hotel features include a Mediterranean restaurant as well as a beautiful rooftop deck with a small pool and gorgeous panoramic views of Barcelona.

  6. The Pullman Skipper is a contemporary hotel near Barcelona's beaches. Rooms are on the large side and have contemporary decor, floor-to-ceiling windows, and in some, terraces. Bathrooms are a standout feature, with large vanities, separate walk-in showers and soaking tubs, and towel warmers. The range of hotel features is impressive: two outdoor pools, including one on the rooftop, a small spa, and a variety of dining options. The lobby is airy and inviting and the rooftop bar has great views. While renting towels for the beach can be a bit of a nuisance, this hotel is near the metro for easy access to Barcelona's sights, and 24-hour room service is on offer.

  7. The Level at Melia Barcelona Sky is a 43-room luxury hotel-within-a-hotel on the upper floors of the Melia skyscraper. In the up-and-coming Poblenou District of Barcelona, the beach, shops, and nightlife are within walking distance, as is the Poblenou Metro stop. Modern rooms feature VIP amenities like Nespresso coffeemakers and the views are wow-worthy. Melia's Level Lounge, with all-day snacks and beverages, is open to guests and there is an outdoor pool, free breakfast buffet, and two restaurants on site, one with a Michelin star. Free meeting space for up to eight peopl, free Wi-Fi, and 24/7 business center are additional amenities.

  8. The 110-room boutique Gallery Hotel belongs to a small Spanish chain, but there is nothing cookie-cutter about this upscale property. Set a 15 minutes' stroll from Las Ramblas, the hotel is perfect for tourists and close enough to the downtown to suit business travelers. The peaceful rooftop, with a pool and bar/grill, is an ideal spot for guests to cool off and recharge. Rooms are sleek and upscale, and, like the rest of the hotel, are decorated with original contemporary art and photography on the walls.

  9. It's all about location at the NH Calderón, as it is smack-dab in the city center and close to just about everything (including Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter). Rooms are typical of the NH chain, with contemporary decor, flat-screen TVs, stockedminibars, and spacious bathrooms. For views, ask for a room on a higher floor. The ultimate vistas, though, are to be found from the rooftop terrace. Open year-round, it offers a lovely pool and lounge chairs that overlook the urban landscape. A tinywellness center with a hydro-massage shower and sauna is a nice perk, but the hotel's Spartan fitness center lacks basic equipment -- including a treadmill.

  10. Situated near the Magic Fountain in Barcelona's Monjuic neighborhood, the Crowne Plaza Barcelona- Fira Center Hotel is a sleek, modern 276-room business hotel. The lovely El Mall restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine in a cozy, brick-walled dining room. Rooms are spacious, with big bathrooms and plenty of space to accommodate sofas, desks, and other furnishings. Decor is minimal but modern and consistent across the rooms. The hotel is well-suited for business travelers, given its ample conference facilities and easy access to the fair grounds. The hotel also finished renovations of the fitness center and spa in October 2014.

  11. The Four Points by Sheraton Barcelona Diagonal has a touch of Mediterranean charm that appeals to tourists with a mural-sized aerial photo of the city greeting guests upon entry into the lobby. But it also offers all of the reliable amenities and conveniences of a large hotel that caters to business travelers with a 24-hour modern gym with Barcelona views, 24-hour room service, a stylish bar and restaurant, free Wi-Fi, and contemporary meeting rooms. Although some of the wood accents in the rooms and cozy furniture choices in the lobby make you feel like you're in a Barcelona home, Four Points by Sheraton Barcelona Diagonal has all of the hustle and bustle noises of a busy chain hotel.
