Best Business Hotels in Barcelona

View all Barcelona Hotels

Barcelona is one of Spain's most-visited cities, but that has more to do with the historic architecture, renowned nightlife, and world-class attractions than conventions and conferences. Still, the Catalonian capital attracts a good number of business travelers in addition to the millions of leisure tourists. For those working visitors, finding a hotel with a good location, free Wi-Fi, and meeting space is important. Here are the 15 best hotels in Barcelona for business travelers.

  1. The 280-room Hesperia Tower Hotel is a luxury property located near the airport and the Barcelona Fair Grounds. With a massive convention center, casual and fine dining options, a sleek lobby bar, and free Wi-Fi, the property draws mostly business travelers. The on-site fitness center is part of one of the most famous gym chains in Spain, and features a spa, group classes, personal trainers, tennis courts, and an indoor pool. However, use of the facilities comes with an extra charge, except for suite guests. Stylish rooms have upscale, masculine decor, with a dark brown, eggplant, and gold palette, high-end amenities, and large windows offering panoramic views (in most). Free shuttle service between the hotel, the airport, and the city center is a convenient perk, but guests looking to explore Barcelona’s attractions may want to stay closer to the city center.

  2. The 276-room Majestic Hotel & Spa has a prime location, steps from designer shops and Gaudi monuments, and blocks from corporate offices and the metro. It's a popular spot for business meetings, and has IT support for presentations. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, stocked minibars, Nespresso machines, work desks with comfy seating, and interesting art. Spacious marble bathrooms have Bulgari toiletries, bathrobes, and rainfall showerheads. Other hotel highlights include a small rooftop pool and terrace, a contemporary spa, and a fitness center. The restaurant serves a morning breakfast buffet and evening tapas; the bar offers live piano music; and the business center has free internet.

  3. There are 433 guest rooms at this smart four-pearl hotel in Barcelona’s Sant Marti neighborhood, a five-minute walk from the beach. Rooms are light and modern, with air-conditioning and plenty of space. Most have excellent sea or city views. There are nice facilities on-site, including a rooftop terrace with pool, sauna, and restaurant. Business guests are in luck as well -- there’s a business center, lots of meeting rooms, and an impressive Executive Lounge with free breakfast and snacks for higher-category bookings. Still, this is not the historic heart of the city, which will take 20 minutes to reach by metro.

  4. The 98-room Mandarin Oriental is one of the most luxurious hotels in Barcelona, and certainly has one of the most recognizable hotel brand names in the city. It has a great location on Passeig de Gracia, and offers all the high-end amenities one would expect from the chain, including a rooftop dipping pool, a beautiful spa, and numerous restaurants (one has a Michelin star). Business amenities include laptops, printers, or mobile phones that can be delivered to rooms, as well as meeting spaces with projection capabilities. All-white rooms are sleek, and some have balconies, but layouts can be a bit awkward. While the service is excellent, some guests complain about street noise and there is a pesky fee for Wi-Fi.

  5. For an upscale property in the Eixample neighborhood, near some of Barcelona's best dining and shopping, Hotel Omm is hard to beat. A suitable choice for business or leisure travelers, the hotel has all the amenities one would expect of a luxury property: a rooftop swimming pool with city views, a hot nightclub with table service, a spa that’s open daily, and the Michelin-starred restaurant Roca Moo. Rooms are elegant and spacious, some with balconies and views and all with flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi.

  6. The Gran Hotel Princesa Sofia is a convenient, luxury option for travelers coming to watch an FC Barcelona game (the stadium is only an eight-minute walk away). It's a five-minute walk to metro station Maria Christina, and a 20-minute trip to Plaza Catalunya. The 15-storied building has 500 spacious rooms with classy furnishings and marble bathrooms. A rooftop bar offers gorgeous city views, and there’s an outdoor beer garden with picnic tables, as well as a spa with an outdoor heated pool and hot tub. The large fitness center has a variety of machines, including several treadmills, but it can get busy.

  7. The 105-room Casa Fuster is an upscale historic boutique near high-end shopping and Modernist architecture. The building itself is one of the most prominent examples of this style, with an elaborate facade and ornate marble interiors. Elegant rooms have pastel-colored walls, oversized headboards, and great amenities such as flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, Loewe toiletries, and surround sound systems. Some even have small in-room saunas, balconies and hydro-massage showers. But quarters can be tight, and king-size beds are really two smaller beds pushed together. Hotel features include a Mediterranean restaurant as well as a beautiful rooftop deck with a small pool and gorgeous panoramic views of Barcelona.

  8. The Pullman Skipper is a contemporary hotel near Barcelona's beaches. Rooms are on the large side and have contemporary decor, floor-to-ceiling windows, and in some, terraces. Bathrooms are a standout feature, with large vanities, separate walk-in showers and soaking tubs, and towel warmers. The range of hotel features is impressive: two outdoor pools, including one on the rooftop, a small spa, and a variety of dining options. The lobby is airy and inviting and the rooftop bar has great views. While renting towels for the beach can be a bit of a nuisance, this hotel is near the metro for easy access to Barcelona's sights, and 24-hour room service is on offer.

  9. The Level at Melia Barcelona Sky is a 43-room luxury hotel-within-a-hotel on the upper floors of the Melia skyscraper. In the up-and-coming Poblenou District of Barcelona, the beach, shops, and nightlife are within walking distance, as is the Poblenou Metro stop. Modern rooms feature VIP amenities like Nespresso coffeemakers and the views are wow-worthy. Melia's Level Lounge, with all-day snacks and beverages, is open to guests and there is an outdoor pool, free breakfast buffet, and two restaurants on site, one with a Michelin star. Free meeting space for up to eight people, free Wi-Fi, and a 24/7 business center are additional amenities.

  10. Situated near the Magic Fountain in Barcelona's Monjuic neighborhood, the Crowne Plaza Barcelona- Fira Center Hotel is a sleek, modern 276-room business hotel. The lovely El Mall restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine in a cozy, brick-walled dining room. Rooms are spacious, with big bathrooms and plenty of space to accommodate sofas, desks, and other furnishings. Decor is minimal but modern and consistent across the rooms. The hotel is well-suited for business travelers, given its ample conference facilities and easy access to the fair grounds. The hotel also finished renovations of the fitness center and spa in October 2014.

  11. The 79-room H10 Montcada is a small upscale boutique located in the Gothic Quarter, across the street from the metro and the Barcelona Cathedral. Rooms are modern, spare, and stylish, with wooden floors, brown leather accents, and great amenities such as free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, Nespresso machines, and tons of toiletries. But most are on the small side, and units on lower floors may experience traffic noise and vibrations from the metro. The restaurant serves a varied breakfast buffet in a homey room (for a fee) and the lobby bar has a speakeasy-meets-travel theme that is charming and elegant. The highlight, however, is the beautiful seasonal rooftop terrace, compete with a whirlpool, padded loungers, a bar, and 360-degree views. The hotel has meeting space with catering services and audiovisual equipment.

  12. The upper-middle-range Barcelo Sants sits atop the Sants train station, the city’s main rail hub, where two metro lines and several national and international rail lines converge. Its location close to the financial district of Les Corts and its large inventory of event space make it popular with conference attendees. The quirky space-station theme is fun, but not for everyone. Its 378 rooms are sleek, clean, and minimalist with minibars, free Wi-Fi, and open bathrooms (also not for everyone). Dining options are multiple and varied, and there is a nice fitness center and sauna, but access comes with a fee.

  13. The Four Points by Sheraton Barcelona Diagonal has a touch of Mediterranean charm that appeals to tourists with a mural-sized aerial photo of the city greeting guests upon entry into the lobby. But it also offers all of the reliable amenities and conveniences of a large hotel that caters to business travelers with a 24-hour modern gym with Barcelona views, 24-hour room service, a stylish bar and restaurant, free Wi-Fi, and contemporary meeting rooms. Although some of the wood accents in the rooms and cozy furniture choices in the lobby make you feel like you're in a Barcelona home, Four Points by Sheraton Barcelona Diagonal has all of the hustle and bustle noises of a busy chain hotel.

  14. Like most (but not all) H10 properties, there's a ton of style to like at this upscale property in Barcelona’s Eixample. The location couldn't be more central, with bars, restaurants, and some of the city’s most impressive architectural gems all within a five- to 10-minute walk. The 80 trendy, contemporary rooms come with air-conditioning, Nespresso machines, and free Wi-Fi, though some are compact. The hotel has a good number of amenities beyond the rooms, including three meeting rooms and a rooftop terrace with a small pool, cocktail bar, and great views over the city. There’s also a lobby bar and restaurant, though breakfast isn't included.

  15. The NH Barcelona Diagonal Center is a comfortable mid-range hotel, but its location outside the city center may put some guests off. The 129 spacious rooms have handsome, modern decor and nice touches such as flat-screen TVs and minibars. Suites are equipped with espresso-makers. A breakfast buffet is offered in the mornings, but it's not included in all rates, and dinner is only available on weekdays. There’s no pool or gym, though there are four fully equipped meeting rooms that can hold up to 80 people and a business center.

  16. There are 55 guest rooms and one meeting room (for up to 12 people) at this sharp and simple property set in Barcelona's Sants district. It’s an ideal location for business guests visiting one of the two large convention centers in the neighborhood, though tourists will have to be okay with a a 20-minute metro journey to Las Ramblas. Rooms have a bright and minimalistic Scandinavian look, and include air-conditioning and smart TVs. Amenities at the property are limited, but there’s a breakfast room and free Wi-Fi.
