Bottom Line

The lower-middle-range Hampton Inn Biloxi is a solid option for tourists and business travelers who prefer not to stay in the area’s bustling casino hotels. The Hampton Inn is located just across Beach Boulevard from the Gulf of Mexico and a four-minute drive from the Hard Rock casino. The hotel offers all the amenities that make it a popular chain, including free hot breakfast, a laundry room, and free Wi-Fi and parking. It also has a fitness center and outdoor pool, but both are on the small side. Rooms are clean and spacious, and come with microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers. Many rooms feature sweeping views of the Gulf, and some have whirlpool tubs and sleeper sofas. The nearby historic White House Hotel often has similar rates, as well as a larger pool and popular restaurant/bar for only slightly higher rates.

Hampton Inn Biloxi

Scene

A comfortable chain hotel with a cozy lobby

Tourists and business travelers often stay at this cozy, six-story chain hotel to avoid the crowds and typically higher rates at the area's casino hotels. The lobby is cozy and inviting, with wood laminate floors and lots of brightly-colored furniture tucked along walls and in corners that create relatively private spaces for quiet conversations. A living room-like space with a large sofa facing a gas fireplace and flat-screen TV offers an especially comfy spot to enjoy a cup of coffee. The lobby doubles as the breakfast room, so it can get crowded during peak hours, but it then settles down to become a peaceful and relaxed place to rest.

Rooms

Clean and contemporary, with microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers

Small windows and a general lack of lighter colors of make these otherwise comfortable rooms a bit dark. The brightest colors come from white duvets and light blue circular accents on the light brown carpets. Accent walls behind the beds are tan, and the matching wood furniture has an espresso finish. In the Standard Double Queen Room we saw, the exterior wall framing the windows was espresso wood, which made the room even darker. Our room had plenty of space to include a desk with an office chair and an upholstered armchair. Amenities are solid, with microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms at the hotel include whirlpool tubs in their bedroom areas, as well as sleeper sofas. Our bathroom was comfortably sized, with a roomy, black quartz vanity and shower/tub combo with beige tiling. Many rooms offer views of the Gulf, while others overlook the hotel grounds or other buildings. Guests should note that smoking is allowed in select rooms at this hotel.
