Scene
Good value, upscale hotel in a peaceful setting
The Bavaria Sport Hotel has distinctly Bavarian, chalet-style features from the outside, a common sight throughout Gramado. Peaceful and friendly, just beyond the wooden entryway, the traditional lobby is lined with wood paneling, exposed stone, and brick, and is outfitted with tufted couches and leather armchairs. The space has the comforts of a modern alpine lodge. Oriental carpets, glass vases, and bowls of flowers complete the look. In addition to the lobby, there are several common areas throughout the hotel, like the stylish outdoor wooden patio surrounded by shrubbery, a game room, and a cozy lounge area that looks onto the manicured gardens. The restaurant and bar continue the alpine theme, with warm wood tones and stone throughout, plus a fireplace. Guests are generally leisure travelers (couples and families), drawn by the tranquil setting and the abundance of sports activities from tennis to mini-golf.

Rooms
Simple and clean rooms with straightforward decor, some with balconies
There are 84 rooms available at the Bavaria Sport Hotel include Deluxe or Premium Rooms and Suites. Rooms are clean and relatively simple. Decor varies a bit from category to category and room to room, but all generally feature wood floors and straightforward mid-tone wooden Ikea-style furniture. Some employ more boldly patterned textiles throughout. White linens and plush gray or tan bed runners lie on comfy beds, and rooms include climate control, minibars, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi (though depending on the location in the hotel, the connection can be inconsistent). Furniture in higher level bookings is a bit more stylish, though still simple, and wall art skews towards the floral. Premium Rooms are a larger and have black sofas and statement black-and-wood headboards. Suites are quite lovely, with wooden ceilings, marble bathrooms, and jetted tubs. Some units have balconies. Bathrooms are modern, though again some are more contemporary while others have outdated tile and granite surfaces, and all only have walk-in showers. Toiletries are provided and there are wall-mounted hairdryers for guest use. Some grout didn't look exactly fresh when we visited, though overall wear is minimal throughout the rooms.
