In a quiet neighborhood, three blocks from the heart
of Breckenridge
Spacious rooms with full kitchens and private balconies
Chairlift and base of a ski run are across the street
Indoor and outdoor hot tubs
Great views of surrounding mountains from some rooms
Free Wi-Fi and guest parking in underground garage
No on-site food service, bar, or restaurant
Water pressure in showers is a little weak
Hot tubs can get crowded
Situated within a few minutes’ walk of Breckenridge’s Main
Street and across the street from a chairlift, the Wedgewood Lodge is a solid mid-range choice for those who prefer to cook their own meals and don't mind the property's absence of on-site dining options. All rooms are equipped with full kitchens and there are communal indoor and outdoor hot tubs (although they can get crowded). It is
considerably more affordable than most ski-in/ski-out options in Breckenridge,
especially for larger groups and families.
Scene
Casual ski property with spacious main lounge area
Resembling a cluster of town homes
and condominiums, Wedgewood Lodge has a main lounge area that looks and feels
like a clubhouse. It's a huge space with several leather couches and armchairs
arranged in separate areas. One set of sofas surrounds a large stone fireplace, while another is arranged in a corner facing a flat-screen TV. Additional seating includes pairs of
armchairs and love seats next to bookshelves full of paperback
books and boardgames. The property's overall atmosphere is casual, with decor reminiscent of the 1980s or early
‘90s. The elevators are made of metal and fake wood, and there are white plastic chairs on the decks. Small walkways connect the town houses
to the main building and there is an outdoor hot tub, a larger indoor hot tub, and a computer/printer available for guest use.
Location
Across from a chairlift, and three blocks from Main Street
Across the street from Snowflake Chairlift and the
Four-O’Clock ski run, the Wedgewood Lodge is in a quiet
residential area surrounded by condominiums and other small hotels. There is a
liquor store and ski/bike rental shop about a three-minute walk down the road, right by the Riverwalk Event Center, which hosts concerts throughout the year.
Main Street is about a five-minute walk away and is filled with plenty of bars,
restaurants, and shops. It's about an hour and a half to two
hours from Denver International Airport by car or shuttle. A large grocery
store – City Market – is about a 15-minute walk or five-minute ride away on
the free town bus. There's a Walmart, a Whole Foods, and a hospital a 15- to 20-minute drive down the road in the
town of Frisco.
Rooms
Super comfortable and equipped for cooking
From Studios to Three-Bedroom Lofts, all units are spacious and have kitchens with full-size refrigerators, ovens and stovetops, microwaves,
dishwashers, coffeemakers, cookware, and dishes. All units have large
couches, armchairs, kitchen tables, and huge private balconies. Bathrooms are simple
but large and all have shower/tub combos. Lofts and multiple
bedroom units have stone wood-burning fireplaces and washer/dryers. Beds
are comfortable, but the upholstery and furniture is dated, with headboards, dressers, and tables made of light-colored wood.
Features
Free parking and Wi-Fi, but no restaurant
Wi-Fi is free throughout the Wedgewood and there's an underground
parking garage that's free for guest use. The property features seperate indoor and outdoor hot tubs and there are books and boardgames for guests to borrow in the main lounge. There's no bar
or restaurant, and the only food available on-site comes out of a vending machine. Concierge services such as airport transfers, grocery delivery, and laundry service are available upon request.
