In Budapest’s city
center, the 80-room La Prima Fashion Hotel Budapest is a member of the Fashion
Hotels brand, which also includes the Cosmo Fashion Hotel, Atrium Fashion Hotel and
the Buda Castle Fashion Hotel in
Budapest. It's location is perhaps the highlight here, but other perks include simple, stylish rooms, a small gym, and a daily free breakfast. Some rooms, however, are quite small and there's a fee for use of in-room coffeemakers.
Scene
Some gaudy decor, but overall a calm and tranquil atmosphere
The turquoise-and-brown color palette here may not be to everyone's taste, but the overall vibe is stylish, if a bit gaudy. The
look can be found from the lobby to the rooms, while the
furnishings in the lobby can come across as particularly cheap, especially the fixtures and
fittings that seem to have been spray-painted silver. Some may see it as cute
and gimmicky and "fashion-y", but it might be too over-the-top for some. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, and La Prima Fashion House is a popular choice for couples and business travelers alike.
Location
On a small street connecting Váci utca and the Danube riverbank
Located a block away from the Danube Promenade, this hotel is very close to
Budapest’s famous shopping street, Vaci Utca Street. There are plenty of cafes,
restaurants, and bars in the neighborhood, and many of Budapest’s main attractions are
within walking distance. Ferenciek Tere subway station is within a few minutes' walk from the hotel. The Danube bank, as well as Vörösmarty tér and
the city’s major mass transportation hub, Deák Ferenc tér, are only a short walk from the hotel.
Rooms
The brown-and-turquoise theme continues to the rooms, which are generally small but have flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi.
Rooms are all air-conditioned and feature flat-screen TVs,
modern bathrooms, and free Wi-Fi -- but use of coffeemakers will cost you. The beds are sturdy, with generous pillows and
that ubiquitous turquoise theme. Bathrooms are modern and slick, with towel warmers, but some are very small with limited counter space and partially open showers. There
are two choices of rooms. Deluxe rooms with twin or queen-size beds, or the
more spacious Duplex Business Suites with whirlpool tubs. Connecting family rooms
and two Disabled Access Rooms are close to the elevators, and there’s
special bathroom equipment and wider doors for wheelchair users. Rooms in the
front of the building have small balconies.
Features
Fitness center and two modern meeting rooms
There’s a small gym with big mirrors, and two
modern meeting rooms for up to 125 people. La Prima Hotel has a business
corner, 24-hour reception, laundry services, and a tour desk, but no swimming
pool. The on-site restaurant isn't particularly fancy, but thankfully there's plenty of other choices dotted around the surrounding area.
