Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace

Budapest, Central Hungary, Hungary

There are several super luxurious hotels in Budapest, but it's hard to top the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace. The five pearl property is housed in a historic Art Nouveau building completely updated with all the comforts of the 21st century like an indoor lap pool and relaxing full service spa. Guests dine on Hungarian and Italian cuisine at Gresham Restaurant or order 24-hour room service. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the 179 guest rooms feature epic views of the Danube River and Buda Castle. Marble bathrooms have soaking bathtubs and L'Occitane toiletries. Luxurious suites include kitchens, fireplaces, step-out balconies, and domed ceilings. Though the Boscolo Budapest, Autograph Collection comes in at a close second, it doesn't have the Danube River views found at the Four Seasons.

New York Palace Budapest

Budapest, Central Hungary, Hungary

Originally opened in 1894 as the Hungarian headquarters of New York Life Insurance, the 185-room Boscolo Budapest, Autograph Collection retains its palatial Italian Renaissance facade complete with ornate arches, columns, and spires. Indoors, the marble lobby includes a glass-covered courtyard and live piano music. New York Cafe was once a salon for Budapest's most famous artists. The two-story Baroque space includes high ceilings covered in frescos and dazzling gold molding. Spacious and contemporary guest rooms can include multi-tiered chandeliers and spa quality bathrooms; apartments have full kitchens. An underground spa and lap pool provide elegant spaces to relax in luxury.

Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest Klotild Palace

The Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest Klotild Palace combines Asian-inspired glamour with sleek luxury on the famous shopping street of Vaci Utca. Decorated in deep reds and dark black, the hotel is reminiscent of a Buddhist temple accented with Japanese and Chinese artifacts. The overall vibe is youthful and sexy, but still deeply luxurious. Trendy Buddhattitude Spa doesn't have a pool but does have heated stone beds and a whirlpool. Free breakfast is served at Siddhartha Cafe and there are two hip bars on-site. 102 rooms and suites include fancy extras like electric toilets, heated floors, and bathtubs big enough for two.

4

Corinthia Hotel Budapest

Budapest, Central Hungary, Hungary

One look at the gorgeous Neoclassical facade of the Corinthia Hotel Budapest makes it clear that this is one of the most luxurious hotels in the city. Inside, the luxury continues with marble floors, stone columns, and ball topiaries. The indoor pool is both gorgeous and enormous with interior-facing balconies giving the space a ballroom-like feel. There's a fabulous rooftop garden with views of downtown Budapest and the Buda Castle. Dining options include a pastry cafe, piano bar, and an Asian restaurant. Executive guest rooms are elegant, though a bit on the simple side and with shower/tub combos, which is why this hotel is fourth on the list. At over over 2,500 square feet the Presidential Suite is one of the largest in Hungary.

Baltazar Budapest – Boutique Hotel

Budapest, Central Hungary, Hungary

Baltazar Budapest is a chic boutique hotel with an artistic edge, located within the walls of Buda Castle on the Buda side of the Danube. There are just 11 guest rooms individually decorated by Hungarian designer Tibor Somlai and inspired by famous artists like Keith Haring. Modern and vintage design combine for a vibrant aesthetic. There aren't many features here, other than an excellent Hungarian Grill and attached wine bar with an extensive list of Carpathian wines.  An outdoor seating terrace in front of the restaurant is set on a cobblestone street and beautifully decorated with flowers and colorful tables for an unforgettably charming look.
