Bottom Line

The centrally located Melia Buenos Aires hotel offers 209 generically decorated rooms. Flat-screen TVs and large bathrooms are the perks here, and suites are especially spacious with big work desks and cozy chairs. The extensive business center suggests that this hotel caters to business travelers, but there are many amenities for leisure travelers too, including a small spa, indoor pool, and fitness center. This clean and comfortable hotel makes a good first impression with its polished lobby and four restaurant options.

Oyster Hotel Review

Near the core of downtown Buenos Aires, close to major tourist sites and great shopping

The Melia is located in Retiro -- a busy area on the northern edge of Microcentro -- that is the core of downtown Buenos Aires. It's a few blocks from main thoroughfares like 9 de Julio and Santa Fe avenues, and within walking distance to great shopping and major tourist sites.

There's so much to see and do in Microcentro that some visitors never leave this area when visiting Buenos Aires. It is the core of downtown, with wonderful shopping areas like Calle Florida, tourist attractions such as Colon Theater and the iconic Obelisk, entertainment venues, an interesting dining scene, and a wide array of hotels. It is also one of the few areas in Buenos Aires that is well connected via subway to the rest of the city.
