Bottom Line

Hotel Villa Sanfelice is an upper-middle-range hotel within a five-minute walk to the shops and restaurants in the Piazzetta. The standout feature here is the pretty outdoor pool area, a relaxing space surrounded by trees, lounge chairs, and a snack bar. The property has 35 rooms with minibars and free Wi-Fi, but bathrooms could use a refresh. There’s a free breakfast included with an outdoor seating area, and a small lobby bar. Children aren’t allowed in the pool in the afternoons, so it might not be a good fit for families. If a pool isn't on the must-have list, then check out Capri Wine Hotel, a winery turned mid-range hotel with lovely, rustic grounds.

Hotel Villa Sanfelice

Scene

Historic property with pretty gardens and pool area

Built in 1645 as a private home and later turned into a convent, Hotel Villa Sanfelice is now a beautiful property with low stone garden walls, colorful flowers, exotic palms, and lemon trees. Inside, the lobby has vaulted ceilings, and decorative blue tile floors. A small bar with a cream-colored couch and matching chairs offers a spot for guests to enjoy a drink. Breakfast is served in a long room with yellow, tile floors and additional dining space is available outside facing the garden. The outdoor pool area is a pretty space surrounded by trees. Blue umbrellas and blue-cushioned lounge chairs provide spaces for guests to relax poolside, while a covered patio space offers a spot to dine on salads or sandwiches purchased from the snack bar. Unfortunately, this hotel doesn't have the epic views that many hotels in Capri enjoy. Kids are welcome, but they aren't allowed in the pool in the afternoons.

Rooms

Simple rooms with traditional furniture and feminine white decor

The 35 rooms at the hotel have a simplistic appeal with white walls and minimal decor. Pretty furnishings like ornate framed mirrors and white parlor chairs with velvet cushions add a feminine touch. All rooms have minibars, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms could use a refresh as most have hand-held shower/tub combinations, old mirrors, and dated hairdryers. Some rooms have large, covered terraces, but other rooms are located in the basement. Watch out for twin beds pushed together to make a double.
