Hotel & Spa Beverly Park

As its name suggests, Hotel & Spa Beverly Park attracts a mix of families and couples interested in a relaxing vacation by the beach. Several wellness and recreational facilities are on-site, plus low-key evening entertainment. Although some rooms underwent a renovation in 2014, other rooms and most common areas kept an old-fashioned look that is in need of an update. The lobby is a loud mix of tan and purple seating under an orange ceiling, a purple-lit water feature, and brochure racks, while the buffet restaurant has low ceilings and coral-colored chairs. Outdoor areas are far more attractive, with lush green lawns and a tidy pool terrace. This is a popular property, meaning it can get busy, though noise is kept to a minimum.

The Hotel & Spa Beverly Park is situated a three-minute walk from a sandy stretch of Costa Brava beach, in a quiet area removed from town. A few restaurants, shops, and a grocery store are in the immediate surrounds. To reach the center of Blanes, where there are a number of shops, bars, and restaurants, guests will have to drive 10 minutes or walk for about 25 minutes. Families may want to head to Marineland Cataluna, a water park with slides and splash pools, located a 10-minute drive in the other direction. It’s an hour drive to Barcelona and 80 minutes to the Barcelona-El Prat Airport. Girona and its airport are about a 40-minute drive away.

Standard Rooms are dated and bland, while 2014-renovated Superior Rooms and Suites are contemporary and attractive. Standard Rooms have basic wood furniture and wall paneling, orange bed runners, throw pillows, and curtains, and pale-yellow walls with landscape artwork. Renovated rooms have more appealing wood floors, white wooden furniture, big headboards, and rich-plum bed throws, pillows, and leather seating. Wall decor in these rooms is kept to circular mirrors, however. Family Rooms are housed in an annex building across the street, and feature white wooden furniture, orange linens, and older-looking wooden floors.

Standard Rooms are compact, but the other rooms are spacious and Suites have separate living spaces. Regardless of room type, all have private furnished terraces, desks, air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and closets. Safes are provided, but they require a fee. Upgraded rooms add kettles and bathrobes, plus distant sea views. Bathrooms have either shower/tub combos or rainfall showers, plus bidets, hairdryers, and toiletries. 

Guests are generally here to relax, and the range of amenities offered are aimed at providing tourists just that. Unsurprising given its name, the spa is the hotel’s standout and popular feature, decorated in a style to resemble a grotto and lit up with colorful LED lights. Facilities include a heated pool, Turkish bath, sauna, relaxation area with heated loungers, and treatment rooms for massages and wellness therapies. Access requires a fee and it's located in a building across the road. Overlooking this is a free-to-use gym, which is small but decently equipped with cardio and strength-training machines and a rack of free weights. Outside is a freeform pool divided in two by a wooden bridge. A small, shallow pool is also here for kids, plus there's a playground within the adjacent lawn. Cushioned loungers and umbrellas line the pool. 

Dining-wise, most guests give positive reviews for the buffet restaurant, which offers a good range of regional and international fare. Additionally, the lobby bar serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day and into the night. Evening entertainment is held at the bar and consists of low-key music and dancing. Visitors can use a nearby tennis court for free. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. Parking is available for a fee.
