Hotel Nautilus

Located in a residential area, Hotel Nautilus is set in a three-story building with balconies running along its facade. The lobby area is neat and clean, but decor is generic and dated, giving the property a no-frills, budget hotel look. Black-and-white photographs documenting the hotel's history adorn the walls, as do a few bright watercolor paintings. A vintage juke box is placed in one corner of the lobby as a fun detail. This hotel appeals to leisure travelers looking for budget lodging near the beach, and is popular with couples and families alike.

Hotel Nautilus is located in Roses, a small coastal town on Spain's Costa Brava in the Catalonia region. The hotel is situated in an area of residential buildings, a five-minute walk to Santa Margarita Beach. There are many cafes, bars, and restaurants within an easy walk of the property.

The guest rooms at Hotel Nautilus are neat and well-maintained, but unremarkable. The furniture is kept to a minimum, and the decor is simple: white walls and tiled floors, and brightly colored bedspreads covered in geometrical patterns on the beds. Framed needlework designs adorning the walls feature a plant and flower theme. All the guest rooms have balconies and amenities include fans, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. However, rooms lack fridges or minibars, and there are no coffee- and tea-making facilities. Bathrooms are outfitted with shower/tub combos, bidets, wall-mounted soap dispensers, and hairdryers. Twin beds are pushed together to make a double bed and Family Rooms include bunk beds for kids. 

Hotel Nautilus offers only a few extra features, the most notable of which is a (seasonal) outdoor swimming pool and deck with lounge chairs. A buffet breakfast is included in the room rate and features a continental spread of bread, pastries, fruit, yogurt, and boiled eggs, but limited hot items. The on-site restaurant also serves buffet lunches and dinners. The hotel bar is located just off the lobby area, and also has an outdoor patio.

Recreational facilities include an outdoor tennis court, a ping-pong table next to the pool area, and a games room with two pool tables, and another ping-pong table. During the summer months, the hotel management also organizes live music and shows, as well as bingo nights, and children's activities.

Free Wi-Fi is available only in the rooms, though there are a couple of computers in the lobby for guests who want to surf the internet. Parking is also available on-site for a nominal fee.
