La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cocoa Beach Oceanfront

The six-floor La Quinta Inn & Suites Cocoa Beach Oceanfront is a no-frills budget hotel that’s geared toward families. The property fits into the Cocoa Beach setting with its casual and surfing-inspired interior design. A surfboard hangs near the small front desk in the lobby, which offers a lounge with rattan chairs, tile floors and floral carpeting, and large conservatory-style windows that face the ample parking lot. The bright breakfast area in the lobby offers a flat-screen TV, green cushioned chairs, and tables near a buffet counter. Outside there is a charming garden courtyard with a waterfall, umbrella-shaded patio tables, and palm trees. Two gated wooden walkways -- one near the pool and the other by the parking lot -- lead to the beach that’s beside the pier, where there are often surfing contests. The atmosphere is relaxed and unfussy, if a bit generic. 

This La Quinta Inn & Suites is in the heart of Cocoa Beach, with the sandy shore at the rear of property. Cocoa Beach Pier -- with fishing, surfboard rentals, shops, restaurants, and bars -- is located right beside the hotel. Ron Jon Surf Shop is a three-minute drive away. Walt Disney World Resort and SeaWorld Orlando are both an hour away by car. Orlando International Airport takes 45 minutes to reach by car. The Kennedy Space Center takes 30 minutes driving. The NASA Shuttle Landing Facilities is a 42-minute drive away. Port Canaveral is a 10-minute drive, while the Brevard Zoo is 32 minutes away by car. Driving to Space Coast Stadium takes 32 minutes. 

This La Quinta Inn offers spacious, bright rooms that are pleasant but a bit generic. Room furnishings are comfy and traditional with hardwood floors, green accent walls, flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, irons/ironing boards, free Wi-Fi, writing desks, and coffeemakers. Furnished balconies or patios have views of the ocean, pier, pool, or lawn. Oceanview Rooms have partial sea views. The King Penthouse Suite has a living room with a sofa bed, a kitchenette, two bathrooms, and a whirlpool tub. Two Queen Suites have sitting areas with two sofa beds and two bathrooms. Oceanview One King Bed rooms have twin-size sofa beds. Bathrooms are small with simple shower/tub combos and hairdryers. ADA rooms have lever door handles and lowered peepholes.

The hotel’s heated pool, which attracts travelers with kids, has a brick-lined deck that’s partially shaded by trees and equipped with lounge chairs and a few umbrellas. Showers are near a wooden walkway that goes to the beach. There’s also a wheelchair lift on the deck. Under an awning there is a cute bar, with a few chairs and a flat-screen TV. Inside the lobby, there is a business corner that has two Apple computers and a printer. A meeting room is available, which can hold up 25 people. A few cardio machines, free weights, and fresh towels are in the small gym. A free breakfast is served each morning in a bright breakfast room that also has an outdoor patio with shaded tables. Wi-Fi throughout is free.
