Comfort Suites University Drive

Comfort Suites University Drive is a chain hotel that delivers value and comfort. Families (often those visiting kids at the nearby Texas A&M University) are the most common guests. However, business travelers stay here too, most likely drawn to the spacious rooms with work desks. The brick and tan property is pretty typical from the outside, though it's a bit old-fashioned in style inside. The lobby’s wooden elements: front desk, hutch, and chairs, and antique hanging lights are plainly dated, but manage to give off a homey vibe. The simple breakfast area and outdoor pool are the only places where guests mingle. 

There’s not much to do in College Station besides eat, shop, or visit the university. Comfort Suites University Drive is surrounded by plenty of dining options from sit-down chain restaurants to fast food options like Buffalo Wild Wings. It’s about a 30-minute walk or an eight-minute drive to Texas A&M University. Post Oak Mall is an eight-minute drive away and has stores like Target and Barnes and Noble Booksellers. It’s a 12-minute drive to Easterwood Airport. The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport takes two hours to reach by car.

While there’s nothing extraordinary about the rooms, they’re pleasant in design and have an overall homey vibe thanks to a combination of earth tone decor, brown carpet, and dark wooden furniture. All rooms have work desks and small living room areas with sofas, though Suites are far more spacious and some have  two rooms. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers. Those traveling with important belongings like laptops or lots of cash, might be disappointed to find a lack of safes. Some Suites have kitchenettes with refrigerators, stoves, ovens, microwaves, coffeemakers, and sinks.  Most bathrooms are standard with shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and free Raio toiletries. Some upper-level rooms have whirlpool baths in the living room areas.

Comfort Suites University Drive offers a solid range of free amenities like Wi-Fi, outdoor parking, and a breakfast of hot and cold items like scrambled eggs, waffles, sausages, and pastries. There’s an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub on a pool deck with plastic tables and chairs. The small gym has three dated cardio machines grouped in front of a flat-screen TV, and the room lacks any form of weight equipment. A coin-operated laundry room is also on-site.
