Bottom Line

The Embassy Suites by Hilton Colorado Springs has a lot to offer leisure and business travelers alike. Located just off Interstate 25 north of downtown, the three-and-a-half pearl property completed an extensive renovation in 2017. Its impressive, four-story atrium hosts the free made-to-order breakfasts and evening manager’s receptions. Other highlights include a spacious indoor pool, fitness center, restaurant/bar, and event space for up to 225 people. Freebies of an area shuttle, parking, and Wi-Fi are excellent extras. The two-room suites are spacious and nicely equipped with sleeper sofas, wet bars, microwaves, mini-fridges,  and coffeemakers. But bathrooms are on the small side. As an alternative, the nearby Best Western Plus Peak Vista Inn & Suites typically has lower rates that include a hot breakfast -- but it doesn’t have a restaurant/bar or meeting space.

Oyster Hotel Review

Embassy Suites by Hilton Colorado Springs

Scene

A large and attractive chain hotel with a cheerful and impressive lobby that stays busy

This handsome chain hotel completed an extensive renovation of its public spaces in early 2017, including its impressive, four-story atrium that cascades cheerful sunlight into the spacious lobby during the day. The lobby features white marble tile floors, stone columns, and black marble registration desks. A huge modern chandelier hangs from the ceiling, and clusters of contemporary furniture provide plenty of places to relax, including some spots that are rather secluded. The hotel can get busy when it hosts large meetings, weddings, or other events. There’s also quite a bit of activity in the lobby during breakfast hours and when the manager’s reception takes place each evening.

Rooms

Spacious two-room suites come with microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers

These contemporary suites were renovated in 2016 to exhibit an earth tone color palette that includes light brown accent walls and beige carpet with light blue accents in busy geometric patterns. Duvets and padded leather headboards are white, and other walls are light gray. The matching oak furniture has a light finish and includes armoires and desks. The suites are spacious and feature separate living rooms with sleeper sofas, small dining tables with chairs, flat-screen TVs, and granite-topped wet bars. Microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, air-conditioning, and free Wi-Fi are standard amenities. Bedrooms also have flat-screen TVs. King Conference Suites replace their living rooms with boardroom-style tables than can seat 10 people for small meetings. Bathrooms are a bit small, with granite vanities and granite-lined shower/tub combos. Premium rooms have mountain views, while others overlook the nearby freeway and property grounds.

The rooms are mostly quiet, but those on lower floors can hear more ambient noise from the atrium area of the lobby. The rooms are generally clean and well maintained, but some past guests have reported minor issues ranging from musty smells to torn shower curtains and drapes.
