Bottom Line

The Staybridge Suites Colorado Springs North offers an attractive combination of comfortable accommodations, a convenient location, and lots of value-added amenities. The mid-range, all-suites property is located just off Interstate 25, within a 15-minute drive of most attractions including downtown Colorado Springs, U.S. Air Force Academy, and Garden of the Gods. Highlights include a free hot breakfast, free dinners on most weekdays, a nice outdoor heated pool, fitness center, and 24/7 pantry. Parking and Wi-Fi are free, as is use of the guest laundry facilities. Suites are clean, spacious, and still fresh from a 2014 renovation. They include fully-equipped kitchens and sleeper sofas, but bathrooms are small. Rates are competitive, but the nearby Best Western Plus Peak Vista Inn & Suites frequently offers better prices, so it's worth comparison shopping.

North of downtown Colorado Springs, just off Interstate 25

This Staybridge Suites is just off Interstate 25 in a busy commercial area. Rooms

Spacious suites with fully-equipped kitchens and sleeper sofas, but small bathrooms

Renovated in 2014, the  spacious, residence-style suites look clean, tasteful, and fresh, although a few past guests have reported minor maintenance issues. Decor is tasteful and uniform with West Elm-like wood furniture in a dark espresso finish that includes headboards, roomy desks, and kitchen cabinets. Drapes and carpet are also in mocha colors, balance by soft aqua details in accent walls, artwork, and some upholstery. Lovely, nature-themed photography and contemporary art add a dash more color. Multiple windows let in plenty of natural light, too. Free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, and two-line phones with voice mail are standard amenities in all rooms. Bathrooms, done up in white subway tile, have shower/tub combos, with white ceramic vanities just outside.

Room categories cover Studio, One-Bedroom, and Two-Bedroom (two-bath) Suites. All suites have sleeper sofas and fully equipped kitchens with dishwashers, full fridges, coffeemakers, microwaves, utensils, and cooktops (but no ovens). All but the Studios also include bars with stools facing their kitchens. West-facing rooms have mountain views, but they tend to hear more noise from passing trains, although it’s not a significant issue for most guests. Otherwise, the rooms are generally quiet and peaceful.

Features

Free breakfast and weekday dinners, appealing pool, and a fitness center

This extended-stay hotel offers lots of value-added amenities starting with its free daily breakfast buffet that includes eggs and other hot dishes. Even better, it also hosts a free weekday dinner (Monday through Wednesday) that features soft drinks and light entrees such as burgers, salads, and fajitas. All-day coffee is also on hand for free. For guests that prefer dining in their rooms, the 24/7 pantry sells sundries, soft drinks, and various food including soups and frozen entrees that can be microwaved.

Another highlight is the hotel's heated outdoor pool. It provides plenty of space for a swim and has an adjacent whirlpool and covered tables. The large patio also gives a place to relax outdoors, with loungers and gas grills. The hotel's fitness center isn't as appealing, but it's fairly well-equipped with Precor cardio equipment, free weights, and a strength-training machine. Travelers can also break a sweat at the full-length outdoor basketball court that's illuminated at night.

The boardroom-style meeting space can hold up to 10 people, and the hotel has a quiet library area with two computers and printers. Guests are welcome to use the guest laundry room’s multiple washer/dryer sets without a charge. Valet dry cleaning and laundry services are available, too.
