Bottom Line

The four-pearl NH Collection Genova Marina is located in the historic old port of Genoa and looks out over the harbor. Gorgeous views of the water can be taken in from the restaurant's outdoor seating area and from the balconies of many of the hotel's sophisticated guest rooms. Its location by the Genoa Aquarium and near the city center makes it ideal for tourists and business travelers alike. The hotel also offers an on-site restaurant, a small gym with modern machines, free Wi-Fi, and a free buffet breakfast, but it lacks a swimming pool.

Scene

Elegant and modern building with a spacious lobby.

Renzo Piano, a famous
Italian architect, recently redesigned the hotel, a soft-pink three-story building on the marina that attracts both business and leisure travelers. A spacious lobby with warm lighting
and wood paneling creates a welcoming atmosphere. There are groups of red leather sofas throughout the lobby. The reception desk is modern and supplies tablets for guest use. A couple of elevators lead up to guest room floors, which have light-wood doors and trim and the occasional seating area set with a cream-colored couch and a low coffee table.

Location

Central Genoa location overlooking the Old Port

The hotel is located on Genoa's Old Port, right by the historic center of Genoa and a short walk from narrow streets filled
with restaurants, bars, and shops. It's a two-minute walk from the Aquarium of Genoa, the
largest in Europe, and it's a 13-minute walk from the Galata Museo del Mare. The Cristoforo Colombo Airport is a 15-minute drive away. The Darsena metro station is an eight-minute walk from the hotel.

Rooms

Contemporary rooms and suites, most with harbor views

The 140 rooms are simple yet sophisticated, with hardwood floors, light wood end table units connected to matching woven headboards, and regal grayish-blue curtains that hang over large windows. Modern amenities
include electric single-cup beverage makers, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges,
and safes. Some rooms also have terraces and larger rooms for families are available. Two-story suites with seating areas on the main floor and bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs are also available. Most rooms have views of the old harbor and out onto the sea. One dog or cat is allowed per room.

Features

Gorgeous restaurant with marina views, free breakfast, gym, and meeting rooms.

The hotel's own Il Gozzo Restaurant &
Bar serves modern Italian food, including local specialities. The restaurant has spectacular views thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows that face out on the marina. The
elegant space has dark-wood furniture and columns and a fabric canopy lining the
ceiling that resembles the sails on a boat. There's also a round bar with seats in
the middle, and outdoor dining is available during the warmer months. A free continental breakfast
buffet is included in room rates. A small gym has
a few treadmills and cardio machines as well as a rack of free weights. The hotel also has seven meeting rooms and catering is available.
