Bottom Line

The azuLine Hotel Bergantin is a three-pearl, all-inclusive hotel set on the more secluded side of the party-oriented Sant Antoni. But it's not exactly peaceful: With a mixture of families and young groups, noise can be an issue for some, though security is proactive in dealing with the more boisterous elements. The 253 rooms are extremely basic, with few amenities, and some bathrooms are in need of a refresh. The three pools and leisure facilities are solidly good; food is more than passable; and alcoholic drinks are unlimited. Expect a five-minute walk to the beach and 10-minute drive to Ibiza Town. For another decent all-inclusive option, compare prices with the nearby Aparthotel Rosamar.

AzuLine Hotel Bergantin

Scene

Straightforward all-inclusive resort-style hotel with varied clientele

The azuLine Hotel Bergantin is an unpretentious, resort-style hotel set in a '70s-style building typical of the area and time. But it's evident that the hotel is well maintained. It has a pleasant front garden presenting a mixture of tropical plants, neat box hedges, and various species of cacti. A Buddha-head statue marks the entrance, the lobby is straightforward and functional with a dated but tidy feel, and hallways are colorful and clean. The focus of the hotel is the resort's spacious sun terraces skirted by rows of palm trees and dominated by a large central swimming pool with a cascading waterfall feature. While attracting a wide range of vacationers, from young groups, to couples and families with kids, the vibe is upbeat with a leaning toward late night festivities among some guests, which can get overly boisterous -- though security are reported as being firm with those making too much noise.

Location

Set at the quieter end of Sant Antoni, a 10-minute drive from its lively center

The hotel is located on the quieter side of the popular resort-oriented area of Sant Antoni. It's away from the center though a five-minute walk from the nearest beach overlooking the bay. There's a variety of restaurants and pubs in the surrounding area, although the nearest is at least a few minutes' walk away. The livelier parts of Sant Antoni, which include the party areas of West End and the Sunset Strip renowned for late night partying, are at least a 10-minute cab ride away. Ibiza Town and its airport are both 20 minutes away by car.

Rooms

Dated rooms short on amenities -- though some with partial sea views

The hotel has 253 rooms, the majority of which are decorated in simple, colorful style with coordinating fabrics, traditional wood furnishings, and marble-effect tiled floors. Gold-and-navy bedspreads and generic art prints contribute to an overall feel of datedness. Suites have a more rustic and homey vibe with exposed brick and exposed beams; they also have a separate entrance and private pool. All rooms extend to balconies or terraces furnished with plastic chairs and tables; some balconies have distant sea views. Amenities are certainly a shortcoming, with little more than TVs (some tube-style) and remote controls that must be rented. Wi-Fi is also charged and can be frustratingly slow. Bathrooms are also basic and some have more than a few signs of wear. Updated bathrooms include shower-tub combos and free toiletries.

Features

All-inclusive deal includes decent buffet dining and three pools

As a fully all-inclusive property, the azuLine Hotel Bergantin serves free breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet style in the hotel's restaurant, which looks fairly fresh after its 2011 refurbishment. The quality and variety of the food is pretty good, with weekly themed buffets being particularly popular. The plan also includes an unlimited amount of soft and alcoholic drinks including some cocktails, and beer is available around the clock.

Of the two larger outdoor swimming pools, one is adults-only and features water jets, while the main pool has more than enough sun loungers for all but the busiest times of year. There's also plenty of sports facilities, including numerous pool and table tennis tables, tennis and multi-use courts, and a mini-golf course. Adults can use the small fitness center equipped with a variety of cardio and strength-training equipment, along with a sauna. Children are well catered for with a kids' club for the under-12 set, a playground, and a splash pool. An upgraded wristband is available that gives access to two chill-out areas and an exclusive roof terrace with rattan loungers, waiter service, and sunset views. Wi-Fi costs extra throughout the hotel and the signal is sluggish.
