The 118-room Hampton Inn offers good value with free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and a decent location just off-I-95 -- a short drive across the bridge from Downtown Jacksonville. Rooms have a red-and-beige color scheme (clean and warm, but not particularly stylish or exciting) and massive flat-screen TVs, and there's a relatively large outdoor pool (although it's surrounded by the parking lot). The hotel is a nice choice for those on a budget visiting the downtown area, but as a simple chain hotel it doesn't offer anything out of the ordinary.
Location
Off I-95 in Southside, just across the bridge from Downtown
The Hampton Inn is conveniently located just off of 1-95, making it easy for guests to visit nearby areas, particularly Downtown. Some rooms overlook Treaty Oak Park.Just across the bridge from Downtown Jacksonville, Southside is a large area composed of several residential neighborhoods and industrial parks. Though most visitors to Downtown choose to stay on the other side of the water, Southside has several attractions in the area: The Museum of Science and History sits alongside the Friendship Fountain, one of Jacksonville's most iconic attractions. The largest and tallest fountain in the world at the time of its opening in 1965, the fountain is part of a large park that looks over the water toward Downtown. Southside is also home to Treaty Oak Park, where a massive oak, estimated to be more than 250 years old, can be found.- 24-minute drive to the Jacksonville International Airport
